When Should We Officially Declare CSB I & II Dead?

Post by Joe Guy »

At this point I'm wondering what point there would be to ever go back to either of the CSB websites. Would the only difference between that place and here be that the three stooges & shemp-quad might post there?

Then why bother?

For some odd reason I check in there from time to time. Nothing has changed in quite a long time.

CSB I is inoperable and CSB II is operable but nobody posts there.

Other than my concern for Garaelb's well being, I don't care much about anything other than the memories from there. It might be a good thing to have access to past history there, but other than that, what would we miss that we can't find here....?

The question became unimportant a long time ago.

I really don't think it's our business to declare it dead or not; though you certainly raise some valid points about the only difference probably being the presence of Larry Moe and Curly (and possibly Shemp...I guess maybe pexxa would also be around ) but what I really wish Gar would do is at least open the the Old CSB back up for the purpose of being able to search the archives...

It could help settle some disputes that arise from time to time...

If he's decided that he just doesn't have the time or resources to work on it right now, I really don't see why he decided to leave the one up with the forum posting problems that no one wants to use. If he'd left the other one up instead, he'd probably be getting at least a little traffic going on...

Joe Guy, I never know whether I should post after you on threads at the new CSB, or let others take the number two spot.

I saw your new thread there, acouple of days ago, and thought you might just get bored of me following and posting after you. So, I left it for someone else this time.

I just thought I would acknowledge the post here instead.

Garael abandoned the whole thing for years. I can't see that his behavior should obligate anyone's loyalty.

Well spotted!
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

Obligation is based on behavior.

You can have warm feelings for clouds, stray puppies, and sunny days but the obligations of friendship are based on behavior.

Behavior is more than what you see on the net. As they say in my country: 'It's the whole enchilanda.'

A net friendship (which is what most of us have with Gar, a few phone calls here and there notwithstanding) is based SOLELY on net behaviour.

'Eh? and a friendship off the net is what then? The half-enchilanda?

You're saying it has to be cyber, or nothing? Why is that?

Where did I say that?

Enchilanda?

Huh.

Funny; all my Latino friends always say enchilada.

On topic.

I will always keep checking out both versions of the CSB to see if the G has regained any enthusiasm for his old projects.

However, part of me feels that one day I will log in, and not even a disabled Board will be there.

Am I right in remembering it is sometime in March that the rego for the old CSB is due?

I think so. Wasn't that what started us on the road to Plan B, once upon a time?

I do believe that the potential imminent closure of the CSB was significant to setting this Board up.

I also remember that I was tired of being told I was ungrateful and then ignored when I tried to express my gratitude.

Ah well.
