A Facinating Hearing...

Post by Lord Jim »

I watched George Zimmerman's bail hearing yesterday....

Normally these are fairly short perfunctory affairs, but this one was almost like a mini trial; it went on for two hours...

Zimmerman himself took the stand to apologize to the Martin family, and since the judge severely limited the prosecutors examination of him, I don't think he damaged himself.

One thing became very clear; Zimmerman has got a damn good lawyer; I know that Mark O'Mara is a regular TV legal analyst in Florida, but the guy was all business, and certainly no Mark Geragos style grand stander...

His witnesses were well prepped; the same cannot be said for Dale Gilbreath, the lead investigator for the state...

The prosecutors have a real problem with him; O'Mara did a masterful job of taking his testimony apart on several key points, and really undermining the case for Second Degree Murder....

If the state doesn't have something a lot better than this, I don't see any way they can meet their burden on that charge; they might have a shot with a lesser included charge of Manslaughter....

If the state of Florida doesn't hand over Zimmerman to the howling mobs - there's going to be hell to pay.

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

I disagree Dale...

In fact I've been meaning to give a shout out to the residents of Sanford Florida...

Despite a lot of outside agitation....from media whores like Al Sharpton and disgraceful behavior from people who ought to know better, like Spike Lee....

The residents of Sanford Florida, despite their understandable outrage and confusion over this, have not engaged in a single act of violence...

They've marched, they've held vigils....

But not a single storefront has been broken; not a single car has been set on fire...

No innocent people have been physically victimized by hell raising thugs...(despite a lot of threats, that could have come from anywhere, given the media focus on this)

Good thing this didn't happen in Oakland...

ETA:

If this Zimmerman/ Maritin thing had happened in Oakland, there'd have been several riots by now, and there would have been another riot last night just because the guy was granted bail...

BSG has a morbid facination for incorrectly spelled words.

Well, let me just say that gersy shore is something that I would NEVER watch. :fu :fu

Sure Tim...

Whatever you say....
Denial (also called abnegation) is a defense mechanism postulated by Sigmund Freud, in which a person is faced with a fact that is too uncomfortable to accept and rejects it instead, insisting that it is not true despite what may be overwhelming evidence.[1] The subject may use:

simple denial: deny the reality of the unpleasant fact altogether

Ok. Here is the facts. Jim. I have NEVER watched Jersey Shores. Period. I was just taking a poke at BSG's reaction for the spelling.

AND a side shot at yourself for even suggesting the possibility. Deal with it. OR. I shall taunt you a second time. :fu :D

Oh, BTW, On topic, I found the entire process to utterly boring and business as usual. :fu :fu :fu

I'm sure you did Tim....

But I believe TV Land was running back-to-back episodes of Gilligan's Island at the same time....

Wouldn't that have held your attention much better?

Needs be known. I have no axe to grind. And I will Not be drawn into yet another flame fest. Period.

So. In the interest of peace on earth, And the Entire Internet and Universal equanimity, and especially this BBS, I offer the Proverbial Olive Branch:

And am I "yankin" yours right back, Jim. See? That is what makes this BBS fun; and in Joe Guys' words "entertaining". Although, I wonder about that Joe Guy..guy. Whilst I like his pussy; he doesn't seem like a republican... IF you know what I mean....

So.

I will continue to say what I want. When I want. As long as this BBS continues to function. No offense meant to anyone. Dang.
Scratch that! Sometimes I deliberately offended people that irritate me.

So Fuck you~

You do Not define MY Reality.

Have a nice day.
