Mother Posts Photo Of Baby With Bong Pipe

A mother is being investigated after she posted a photo on the internet of her 11-month-old son apparently smoking a cannabis bong pipe.



Mother defended her actions after posting this photo on the web

The image has been widely circulated on the web and came to light after a shocked viewer sent it to a Florida-based news channel.

It shows a baby in a nappy putting the green glass smoking instrument to his mouth as if he were inhaling it.

His 19-year-old mother, from Keystone Heights, Florida, defended her actions, claiming there were no drugs or tobacco in the bowl and her child was not breathing in smoke.

But child protection officers from the Florida Department of Children and Families have launched an inquiry into her actions.

"We are alarmed that any parent would take pictures of their child next to what is obviously drug paraphernalia," said spokesman John Harrell.

He said the unnamed woman could face serious charges if drugs were used by or found near the baby.

The mother talked to Channel 4 via the social networking site Facebook, and insisted the pictures were a joke.

She said: "If u look at the picture u can see that there is no bowl in the TABACCO (sic) pipe.

"And i took a pic to show one (expletive) person and it was a mistake. I would never ever ever let him get high."

She said that as part of the investigation, she was being ordered to have a drugs test and her son was being checked by doctors.

She added: "Do you realize how serious this is? i can go to jail and he can be taken away from me. WHY would you do something so (expletive) stupid?

"i know what i did was stupid but i would NEVER put by baby in harm. im (sic) so nice to everyone idk (I don't know) why you would do this to me."

Well, there's a bright spark in charge of a baby. I wonder how they will grow up?

Babies are as cheap as chips these days..

Everyone knows you can find just about anything you need for a low price at Walmart -- including baby stuff. But an actual baby? That's not usually part of the deal.

Unless you're desperate for cash and not in the best frame of mind.

That's the case in Salinas, California, where police say a couple tried to sell their 6-month-old baby for $25 outside the doors of a Walmart store. Now they're facing child endangerment charges.

Patrick Fousek, 38, and Samantha Tomasini, 20, were arrested Wednesday, hours after Fousek allegedly approached two women outside Walmart and asked if they'd like to purchase his child -- at the bargain price of $25. The women initially thought Fousek was joking, but when he became persistent, they got suspicious and reported it to police, Salinas police spokesman Officer Lalo Villegas said.

"They did an outstanding job and gave our officers good information." Villegas said. "I don't know if they're mothers but they definitely had that instinct to help."

Strop, I need to pick you professional brain if you please. My daughters friend has a one year old. He is apparently healthy and happy. He is crawling and pulling himself up easily and is very active. He does have an unusual behaviour which I have never observed. He shakes his head rapidly from side to side and then laughs. It almost seems that he is trying to get a head rush. Have you ever observed this in either infants or adolescents or even adults.

When I was just turning into a toddler, apparently (and there is photographic evidence) I used to bang my head on the ground and then stand up really quickly so I got giddy and fell down. I would always laugh too and there is nothing wrong with me!

Most seem to think that it's to do with the baby exploring it's own physicality, others agree it's for the rush, some say for the sounds of fluid in the ear.

I wouldn't be over concerned yet Miles, see if the kid grows out of it.

Absolutely Lo.

But consider the different cases that have been reported upon. You have some there young spunky teachers get spanked on Facebook for having a life outside school and liking to look sexy. (Bad influence for their children at school apparently?)

And then there is this moron who take a photo of her child imitating his mom's actions and places it on Facebook to share with one other person. The photo makes it apparent that the baby has seen people sucking on pipes many times before.

Methinks mamma has sucked a few too many pipes herself.



She probably wouldn't have picked Steve as Sherloklewis either, or at least ... not so quickly.
