I would think any supreme being would hang his/her/its head in shame for what's being done in his/her/its name by people of many religious groups

Since there's only one, He's especially saddened by what Christians do and say in His name (see b above)

Lo--I don't feel i can judge the truthfulness of his beliefs based on press accounts, but if you feel comfortable in doing so, go ahead.

But again, to me that's immaterial; we should do it because of the type of people we are, not the type of person he is.

Meade--I tried to be ecumenical in my pronoun use; I would think supreme being connotes one being, not a number of them.

Of course Big RR. It was a feeble jest to the effect that only Christians do anything in the name of God. All others do it in the name of some false idol they've made up, which (you are probably right) He might also find upsetting in a general sort of disappointed way. I'm definitely off my feed today.
