So We Went To A High School Fair Yesterday...

Post by Lord Jim »

We pretty much know where The Warrior Princess will be going; it's a nice Catholic girl's school out here in The Avenues with a really good college prep reputation and a total student body of about 500....(she wants to go there, a lot of alums from her current school are there, and it would be a nice, comfortable transition for her...and we know she's well qualified to be accepted.)

But I have to say that personally I think it's very sad that here in The Bay Area in 2012, 13 year old kids are being subjected to the kind of pressure and process just to get into a decent high school that I didn't have to go through until I was a Junior in High School applying to College...

I also actually got a little weepy *which rarely happens) on the way home...I told Tati that to me it seems like it was just yesterday that I was taking her to her first day of kindergarten, and now she's getting ready to go to High School....I told her that I knew that from her perspective the time must seem like it's dragging, but for me it's going by way too fast....

She reminded me of what I had told her....

That no matter how old she gets, she'll always be my little girl....

Smart kid...

Oh god, tell me about it Jim....

Hatch is coming up to her final term of her International Baccalaureate.

On Hen's Birthday, she will be driving us out to the restaurant.

Next year, she votes for the first time.

Have to agree there, but the I would wouldn't I?

On the drive into college the other day, Hatch and I were discussing her extended essay on; "The possible biological influences on Jeffrey Dahmer and his crimes." (I proofread most of her work.) I'll be publishing it on our blog next month.

She's 17, not 18 for half a year yet, and I know she is going to be an outstanding University student, I also know she is going to far outclass me academically, and I'm pleased as punch over that. I look forward to the future intellectual challenges.

But more important than that she is a GOOD and HAPPY person.

(Sorry if i've hijacked your thread a bit Jim, I'm not doing a retard and trying to trump your pride!)

Those of you who claim to be proud parents haven't the scientific capability to realize that it's far more difficult to raise bees than it is to raise republican or Australian children.

ROTFLMCO!!

I was just thinking how nice it was to have a thread where the retard couldn't do his usual "mine is better, mine is best," routine.

Thank you Joe Guy for making laugh at 8 am this monday morning.

Lord Jim enjoy every moment before she goes and even enjoy your time together after she goes. My son is 27 (just moved out) and daughter is 23. I look back at some of the videos we made of them when they were little and wonder where the time went.

Good one, Joe. :ok

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.
