Lo's Inquisition
Re: Lo's Inquisition
So how did your ex steal your life savings and get away scot free lo?
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?
Re: Lo's Inquisition
You couldn't find cash for all those bills but you found the money for booze, enough to be drunk and incapable at HD. You had to sleep it off in the loo as I recall.
It was around this time you. PM'd people begging for money, right?

Re: Lo's Inquisition
With much due respect, that's a bit unfair, Daisy. Although drinking doesn't excuse what Lo did, she was in a tailspin and admits it.

Speaking of stealing; Keeping the house is quite an achievement for me, since my Ex managed to corrupt my lawyer, and got away with ten years of my income as a full-time welder. All of it- and my life's savings from an active duty tour in the navy: POOF! Gone.
Since he couldn't verbally and physically abuse me anymore because of the restraining order; he tried to ruin me finacially, by stealing all my money and hiding it an IRA, that he managed to make my lawyer ignore. Then he started stalking me ...but, I digress.
This place had been supported with two incomes and his investments; and now it was all on me and my hard work. There have been times, I've had three jobs and freelance work, all going at the same time. So, what possible reason is there for my to feel bad about that?
It's been an adventure, and sometimes a pretty funny one; but that's what my familia always does- work hard and bounce back.
Shoot, you think that's impressive, I should tell you about my hero, My Granpo!
Hmmm, in honor of Cinco de Mayo, I think I will tell that story, brb...
Yes Daisy, financial stress does indeed trigger alcoholism; that's a known fact. If you've noticed, folks in this country have been driven to suicide and murder because of it, too. So, in that respect, I'm ahead of the curve. I just happen to have the added bonus of a stalker, too.
With all that against me, and getting to where I am today; I think my Granpo would be pretty proud of me ...and that's what matters to me.
Jesus and Buddha were beggers, so what?
Re: Lo's Inquisition
Always someone else's fault eh?
“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren't so lazy.”
Re: Lo's Inquisition
So where do you take responsibility for all of this?

Re: Lo's Inquisition
All of it? You'd have to go far pretty back; I'd say I should have taken the initiative to end the relationship (because I did suggest couseling more than a few times) or not have gone into it in the first place.
Re: Lo's Inquisition
Ok, where do you take responsibility for ANY of this?

Re: Lo's Inquisition
I took charge of caring for my foster son alone; and for supporting myself, my home and paying back my debt, these last nine years independantly.

Where did you take responsibility for anything which has gone wrong? (He asked again.)Gob wrote:Always someone else's fault eh?

Re: Lo's Inquisition
After our first fight, first real fight; about 8? months into the marriage. I entertained the possiblity that I was just angering him, or being unreasonable. So, accepted his suggested solution [withheld here] for about four years.

So your reply to;
Thank you.
Is, "I haven't".Gob wrote:Where did you take responsibility for anything which has gone wrong? (He asked again.)Gob wrote:Always someone else's fault eh?

Re: Lo's Inquisition
Good thing, I didn't say that, again.
However, why do you think I should have? Is it your opinion that those subjected to domestic violence somehow deserved it?

Re: Lo's Inquisition
I'm really reluctant to step into this...but a couple of questions to try and understand this....Speaking of stealing; Keeping the house is quite an achievement for me, since my Ex managed to corrupt my lawyer, and got away with ten years of my income as a full-time welder. All of it- and my life's savings from an active duty tour in the navy: POOF! Gone.
LoCa, when you say that your husband "corrupted" your lawyer, I'm assuming you mean that he somehow got the lawyer to represent his interests rather than yours....
That would be a serious breach of legal ethics, and could result in the attorney losing his license to practice law...
Did you report him for this?
And when you say that your ex "got away with ten years of my income as a full-time welder. All of it- and my life's savings from an active duty tour in the navy" , what exactly are you saying?
Are you saying he emptied a joint bank account that had all your money in it, or that you paid him that money as part of divorce settlement that you signed on to through the "corrupt" lawyer?

Re: Lo's Inquisition
I'm going to file a complaint soon; from the same thread that I moved that quote from- BSG and Scooter showed me how to do that.
... and yes, it's hard to pinpoint exactly when he opened the account, in his name only*. However, it was decidedly during the time of the marriage, and before he petitioned for divorce.
In the State of California, any account that is made by a married party, is automatically the joint property of the spouse. It was somehow hiding the date that this account was opened, that kept it off the judgement paperwork.
*I have the evidence that he closed our joint account, and started getting mail to his best friend's house...
I'm sorry Gob, you're repeating yourself, but not explaining yourself. So please, I'm asking you politely; what do you mean?

Re: Lo's Inquisition
Where have you ever admitted responsibility for anything which has gone wrong in your life.

Re: Lo's Inquisition
Here, and in RL ...for example, it's why my BF and I got back together <3
