8/12 and 323 crashed Convair 440s.
Who the heck flies Convair 440s anymore? I'm sure I'm more into antique aircraft that most anyone, but I'm surprised that they are still used commercially, even for freight.

Re: Another Weekly Quiz
There was a regional airline (North Central Airlines) which used to serve my hometown in Wisconsin that flew Convair 440s. Of course, that was back in the 1960s; by 1969 they were all either retired or converted to Convair 580s, which were in turn retired by the end of 1979 when North Central merged with Southern Airlines and renamed itself Republic Airlines.MGMcAnick wrote:8/12 and 323 crashed Convair 440s.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

Re: Another Weekly Quiz
Maybe, but I'd sure like to have a 426 wedge in a '64 sport Plymouth Fury. One of my HS friends had one. I'm sure his parents had no idea what he was driving when we were in school. My '64 Chrysler 300 has only the 383, and it's plenty potent.RayThom wrote:Mopar... mo problems, mo money.

10/12 for 450. As usual I failed the football question. Was it just my system or did it seem slower than usual? - there was a hesitation between my hitting a response and it acknowledging whether my answer was right or wrong.
