That's true - I grew up watching my violent alcoholic father beat my mom whilst drunk, and I've seen so many criminal cases now with alcohol consumption leading to violence, I never underestimate the potential for violence when folks are drunk and arguing - not just intimate partners, but even the best of friends.Big RR wrote:Either that or you have more experience in seeing where these things went bad.

For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.

I have never hit my wife (or children) when I was drunk or sober.
I have steppen in to more than one boyfriend/girlfreind fights where the guy hit the girl (and I hit him a few more time than he hit her). Both ended up marrying the dickweeds and both are now divorced.
My uncle and his second wife (both alcoholics) fought like crazy all the time but never to the physical level. they were married over 25 years. they both have passed on. RIP Uncle Bob and Dee.
