Oldr, Guin is fine...

Had to call out the National Guard to help dig us out. Still places inaccessible - its a tough town to maneuver with all this snow. We have close packed homes, narrow streets, and lots of people don't have off-street parking (I am so thankful that I do), or cars that travel well in deep snow or slippery conditions. It's honestly a mess, but I'm all set and headed to the office (finally) in a minute.

I'm so thankful for my Jeep, my plow guy, and the people who are going to get the deep snow off my deck and sunporch roof some time later today.

And oh yeah, its snowing and blowing like crazy this morning. More snow tomorrow night, and then again Sunday. Our little peninsula is going to sink into the ocean with all this white stuff!

Good to hear Guinever. Stay safe.
And good you're getting the snow off the roof. I expect to hear about more than a few roof collapses in the Boston area.
If you ever get rain on top of that snow, watch out!

Sounds amazing Guin! Without wanting to sound callous, any chance of photographs?

Honestly I haven't taken many. It's difficult to get around town (plus officials have asked us not to sightsee while snow removal ongoing) and it's also cold and windy. I've been staying inside.

I'll collect some over the weekend (when we are getting another foot of snow and temps head down below zero) and see what I can post. Also - all the flat white makes for terrible photos!

Here are a couple links w some photos and video from my town:

I see they used the wrong vowel in the name of that town. They printed 'Hull'.

Stay safe and warm, Guin.

Because we've *never* heard that pun before . . .

About a decade ago a local biz made a splash with a line of shirts that said "Go to Hull." Expanded to include "Cute as Hull." I've got both....

I've been listening to WBUR this morning and much of the past few weeks - with all the issues with MBTA dealing with the snow, I should hope some folks are thinking twice about the wisdom of bringing the Olympics to Boston, UNLESS the plan is to invest serious money into upgrading infrastructure.

Blizzard watch and coastal flood watch up now. Another 12-18 inches.

Looks like I'll be spending my valentines with the plow man.

Seriously, I'm done with this shit. With yesterday's snow we made the snowiest February ever (45+ inches -- that's our annual winter average). After this weekend (or maybe the next blizzard coming mid-week) we should be close to or at the snowiest winter ever (we're at 80+ inches, and should easily top 100-110 by the end of next week). Oh, and now we're having arctic temps to make it even more fun. 2 degrees this morning with a wind chill of -5 and only getting colder.

Beer Sponge, Scooter, all you Canucks --- how do you manage? It's relentless.

Here's our forecast for the next three days on my Weatherbug:
Sunny. Highs in the upper 60s. North winds 5 to 15 mph.

Sunny. Highs in the upper 60s. Southeast winds around 5 mph...becoming north in the afternoon.

Partly cloudy in the morning then becoming sunny. Highs in the upper 60s. East winds 5 to 15 mph.
Yesterday it hit 73 here...

That all sounds quite lovely, but I would gladly trade you that weather for some of your storm systems...

I feel for you, Guin. On the plus side, it proves that global warming is a hoax.   :? 8-)

Meanwhile in Montana the trees are starting to bud. We will get freezes again and that means damage to the flora, which eventually affects fauna. Not to mention it's looking like a long hot summer . . .

(Say that three times fast.)

Is this your house? Regardless, come August this will all be a bad dream. Good luck.

Those shots of Scituate are exactly what it looks like around here. But really all of them are. National Guard coming back soon.

Bitter cold today. -5 temp this morning. -30 wind chill.

Yah, we had -6 early a.m. but with no wind to speak of (thanks be!) the wind chill was only -10. We'll warm up to +12 today with any luck.

Scituate... I've tried several ways to pronounce that and at least three shouldn't be attempted in public

Hang in - summer is coming!
