I think most of it will stay in the wetsuit until it is taken off; so it's more important not to rent a wetsuit after someone who does that.

FWIW, I've always rented wetsuits and never have warmed them up that way (in deference to the next person renting it if nothing else), but I recall hearing about that warming technique in a Navy Seal program on Military History.
