Way more than a few; the vast majority actually. I've repeatedly posted statistical information supporting this fact.
For quite a while I've been saying that any cop who is okay with ignoring or covering up bad behavior by other cops is *NOT* a "decent cop".
People who are wrong are just as sure they're right as people who are right. The only difference is, they're wrong.

However, there must be few decent cops around?

At least, I hope so.

Our future as a republic could depend on it.
Maybe a dozen in the country...but I wouldn't bet more than ten bucks on it. Cops are basically gangangers, with badges standing in for facial tattoos.

I suspect the holdout juror is a badge bunny.

The problem...if they DON'T play along, tbey run the very real risk of retaliation, up to and including murder. Not to mention the worry of calling for backup...and not knowing if they will get it!

This Is Puzzling And Disturbing...

Post by RayThom »

My last "cop stop" was in Glenolden PA. Coming up to a stop sign I notice to my right an unmarked patrol car parked at the curb of the intersecting street. I not only stopped but "dramatically" looked both ways for the cop to see my due diligence. As soon as I get passed the intersection I am being followed by said cop. Knowing he's now tailing me I pull over even before he hits the lights and siren.

As the cop approaches me, I put on my emergency flashers, put the window down, turn on my dome light, and pushed my wrists against the top of the steering wheel. He asks me if I knew why I was being stopped and I said yes, but he was stopping me falsely -- especially after I somewhat acknowledged him at the stop sign.

When he asked for my papers I told him they were in the 'glove' box UNDER my CC permitted handgun. I was instructed to get out of the car and place my hands on the roof -- which I did. With Officer Fife watching my every move he went to the passenger side of the car, opened the door and glove box, and removed my handgun and paperwork. I then pulled out my DL and owner's card, plus my carry permit and sat back in my car. Some minutes later he comes back, handing me my papers, a moving violation, along with my gun with an empty clip -- all 11 rounds are missing. He claims that under the circumstances he couldn't take the risk of being shot at by an angry motorist. I told him I disagreed with his methods but with no argument.

Soon after I talked to a friend who works within the regional magistrate system and I was told to show up at the hearing and the charges would be dropped -- which they were. When I asked the Glenolden magistrate how to get my bullets back he said that was between me and Officer Fife and he wouldn't be at the cop shop until later that afternoon. Under the circumstances I let the matter drop -- the reloaded ammo wasn't worth the bother. I was pissed at the cop's omnipotence and arrogance, however.

Cops -- it's hard to live with them, and it would be harder to live without them. Regardless, the culture must change but that won't happen soon.

I work frequently with the cops, in fact we did an "involuntary admission," with them just last Friday.

Only once have I had one play the funny fucker, and a quiet word with him sorted him out, he even had the grace to apologise to the client who he was derogatory to.

A true story, or so I've been led to believe:
