Well, there you go. You can upload it so I can see the entire chain of events.

Jeez, RayThom, get off it and let it go.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

This is like fake news. I'm skeptical of what really happened. I'm just looking for clarity, that's all.

As the Magic Eight Ball says, "A simple upload will reveal all." So, what do you say, Jarl.

Hey Jarl, glad she's ok. Been "popped" myself (June 6 2014) and no matter how slow you are going, it still hurts. Mine was also a left hand turner into me. :arg

My dad said after last years riding season he was giving up riding (he'll be 85 in august). But after "un-winterizing" the bike and going out for a short ride two weeks ago he said he's going to ty and ride one more season. Too bad, as I was getting the bike, but if he wants to keep riding, go for it dad. :ok
He's been to Sturgis and Laconia and Daytona and a few other bike rallies. When I grow up I wanna be just like him.

I'll keep riding my bike. My first real ride of the season was saturday too. Took a bit to get the legs back, but after an hour or so it was just like old times.

You enjoy being an asshole, that's all.

Glad the missus is ok, Jarl.

She is feeling ok today...went to work, though she her manager sent a trainee with her, so she has some help unloading the truck. Yesterday, she bought a replacement helmet and new gloves.

The bike is probably totaled...if only because it is an oddball, with repair parts (minimum, it needs a clutch lever, both mirrors, brake pedal, pegs, and probably bars) near-unobtainable for it.

Did you take your meds today, Ray? Or maybe you double dosed without realizing it. If you could post your prescriptions and a video of you taking them, that would help us to make an independent determination of what has gone wrong today. Inquiring minds need to know.

Hey, I'm an inquisitive and objective kind of guy. I like to think I have both sides of a story before making any judgements. Obviously there's more to this than meets the eye.

Jarl, so you know. These types of Go-Pro vids are what a global TV/Web show called "Right This Minute" likes to broadcast. They will even pay you for limited rights to show them. Subsequently, if the vid catches on and the web racks up enough viewers there's a lot of money in that, too. Plus it will really bolster your wife's impending court case. You might want to consider it.

You can thank me later.

Honestly, it probably isn't economically repairable...just parts will cost more than the bike is worth. (Which isn't much...her helmet might be worth more.)

Liz crashed, but is OK

Post by RayThom »

In the mid '60s I owned a '59 Rabbit motor scooter that I bought in bushel baskets -- it cost me $40.
The shell was so beat and dented that it wasn't worth repairing or replacing. I trashed the entire shell and then modified the exposed frame and splash guard to look much like a motorcycle. As odd as it was it really got attention. A few years later I sold it to the kid down the street for $350.

Maybe you can creatively modify the Comet and still make it useful in some other configuration.

Tell her oldr_n_wsr says to ride safe, keep her head on a swivel and expect drivers to not see you.

And i think you said the helmet was damaged so I am guessing she got a new one. Even if it doesn't look damaged it's good to get a new one after going down even if you don't think you hit it on anything.

WOW!!!
My dad has 70,000+ on his. And he bought it brand new in 2002.
Took my bike out for the second ride this season last night. Went to center moriches for an aa meeting. Short trip, only 20 miles each way. It's 15 miles by highway/major roads but I took a bunch of back roads. Much nicer ride.
