Look at it this way--without the egg throwing, Insincerely doubt a protest would have gotten international attention, and it certainly would not have been discussed here.

Having participated in past protests that included blocking traffic, occupying buildings (after being told to leave), and throwing soft projectiles and liquids at individuals, I think sometimes taking that sort of action is the only way you will be heard. Yes, the "violence" can escalate (and that was a reason I stopped attending many of the protests and organizational meetings), but I do think there are times when these sort of tactics are the only way to give voice to one's outrage. Of course, we each have to decide where the line between acceptable and unacceptable civil disobedience is drawn, but I do think that is a moving target which is based, in large part, on the brutality of the other side.
