Actually, not really...ONLY the Giants truly embrace the city where they once played. There is no trace of the Philly A's in Oakland, nor of the Milwaukee Braves in Atlanta. There is precious little sign of Brooklyn at Dodger Stadium...the strongest connection they had was actually to the old "Dodgertown" spring training complex, they being the last west-coast team to train in Florida (left in 2009).

There was a time when there was a three hour Super Bowl. Now there is a three hour pre-game show and a contest that lasts the better part of four hours. And how super can the championship game be anymore since they've done their best to eliminate dominant teams (through the hard salary cap and drafting of new player process)?

How much time for advertising breaks, cheerleader displays, words from our sponsors, fading pop stars showing off flabby tits, and marching sousaphone bands will that incorporate?

Will you get 20 minutes of actual play?

Don't get much value for your money, or is that all the playing time your "athletes" can keep going for?

Or is it just that the attention span of the average (baseball? basketball? pseudo-rugby, which one is this?) fan can manage?

I was a bit pissed off at the Adelaide match it only lasted 9 hours.
