160 to 180 dollars for each wheel! You mean all four wheels could cost as much as 780 dollars or both front and back wheels could cost 360 dollars?

She said each pair later on. Guess it was hard to get that far when you have to read with your lips moving.

Too bad you are not mechanically inclined, because it is not a hard job. It can be dangerous if you don‘t follow standard safety procedures.

Not that is any of your business, I read and respond, if I choose, to one page at a time.

And the clarification to which I referred was offered two posts down from the one you responded to, on the same page. Guess you missed it.

And anything that is posted in public forum is anyone's business to respond to. If you don't like it that your posts so often show you to be an idiot, that's something only you can do something about (note I don't say "fix", because I don't believe in miracles).

BSG, do you have a Monroe Muffler,Brake Shop or something like it in your area? They tend to be less expensive and do excellent work.
I expect to go straight to hell...........at least I won't have to spend time making new friends.

Miles, nice cachet of drugs you got into.

Monro (Monroe is a shock maker): every car needs new ball joints, no matter how old.

Any reputable shop will charge 1 hr per axle, and that includes rotor or drum replacement. Tehy will however add 50-100% for parts

Y'know quad....why not offer something CONSTRUCTIVE instead of running others down.

Miles was just offering an opinion and you respond with an insult.

Why did you do that?

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

I have taken vehicles to Monro. Tthe only time I was told one needed ball joints...it needed lower ball joints.

You used to have a clue...now, not so much. Have you begun drinking heavily?

In PA, where Miles lives, as do I, Monro leads the league on complaints. They are second to none 'cept firestone centers. IIRC there is even a website dedicated to Monro ripoffs.

That was not an insult, it was a jab. Like you did right?

So I dunno, instead of calling one clueless research a bit. You know, without being asked that one of my many endeavors is a repair shop. For automotive, motorcycles, marine and ATV equipment. (and now RVs as of 2011). You also know, without being asked, that I hold valid PA license for car truck trailer motorcycle and enhanced (resto, rod, reconst etc) inspections. Therefore you could surmise that if I am approached by the QAO (quality assurance officer) and the PSP to do a 'secret shopper' type visit with a new car, I may just do that.

And FWIW, I had proved my point, with a NEW car, which they stated needed ball joints. (It was a Malibu FWIW)

Or maybe I stay at holiday inn expresses and wake up with auto type knowledge. I dunno. You make the call.

There are websites dedicated to planty of complaints...some might even be valid.
That was not an insult, it was a jab. Like you did right?
You are very confused. That was not me, it was Dales.
So I dunno, instead of calling one clueless research a bit. You know, without being asked, that one of my many endeavors is a repair shop.
I do? You have a greatly-inflated sense of your own importance.

I do? Again, you have a greatly-inflated sense of your own importance.

Yes, because ONE shop is ALWAYS representative of ALL shops! I once had a lousy sub at D'Angelo's, that must mean that ALL D'Angelo's are bad!
Or maybe I stay at holiday inn expresses and wake up with auto type knowledge. I dunno. You make the call.
Please post the name & location of your shop...I need to make sure I do not bring any vehicles I own anywhere near it under any circumstances.

When discussing any disagreement with the quad-dude, there are a couple things that people need to prepare themselves for...

quad is a self-proclaimed expert on every subject that he argues about. He may not have any documentation or any substance to help support his claims, but he nevertheless believes that he knows more than anyone else about all subjects.

The best thing to do is let quadly make his case - which usually involves him making references to "facts" that can't be revealed by him for reasons only know to him (and others who realize those facts don't exist).

And most of all... let quad make his claim that he is the only one who knows these 'facts' and is ultimately correct.

Like this thread, any discussion with quad will devolve into a wasted exchange of ideas. He is not here to learn or interact in a productive way, he is here by his own admission to attempt to disrupt discussions and be a troll.

I can actually remember a time when quad was not a complete asshole.

But that may have been an indication of an earlier time in which quad failed to achieve his goal to convince others that his posts might be worth reading.

Quad, if this wasn't an insult, what was it?

As I said, it was a jab. If we are going to call every post that has something like that in it, when clearly meant with no malice, then we are going to be awfully busy redefining EVERY thread on this BBS. Really wanna start that?

Fair enough (since Miles hasn't posted whether he believes he felt insulted or not).

Like Tritons, if you dont agree with it then the masses are merely delusional? This is a very puzzling response track you have taken here.
You are very confused. That was not me, it was Dales.
What was the VERY LAST sentence you wrote to me? Was it similar to the VERY FIRST sentence you replied to me on a website dedicated to something else, simply because you did not like the content of nearly 50% of the threads in that section? Again, VERY puzzling
So I dunno, instead of calling one clueless research a bit. You know, without being asked, that one of my many endeavors is a repair shop.
I do? You have a greatly-inflated sense of your own importance.
Given that you and I have discussed such things at length, and you have even posted publicly and privately asking me questions about such matters. The last one, IIRC was entitled 'Quad I need to pick your brain'

again, see above.

We/I/them dont go after all shops. But when there is smoke, and repeated smoke, there is a pattern. (gee just like tritons!) Firestone, Monro EARN their reputation honestly. And here is the kicker, for around the last 2 decades I have VOLUNTEERED for task force after task force, committee after committee to PROTECT the consumer. While 95% of my internet time is pure research, the other 5% is generally helping (for FREE) people in threads, just like this one on BBS all over the spectrum. Its like Polamalu going after the football. Do you even know anyone who does the same? BITOG, Ford Trucks, Ford 6, Trailer Boats, SabMag, Sunline, RV net, Rv Forum, ATV Conn...the list goes on. I get paid ZERO. And Im the bad guy????
