Gob, I agree with Jim here. And if you want to get a more accurate take on reality recycled; I would suggest a look at Bigger and Blacker.

Chris Rock is one of the funniest cutting edge social commentary comedians in the US today. Hence his popularity across the spectrum, black or white and in between.

He does not pull punches. I actually provided an excerpt on the CSB for Mediator. No comment. Quell surprise.

And I do not think it was because it was too close to home. I gave him the perfect platform to carry on with unwarranted attacks of certain posters that called that shite and gave as well as they got. Call Me a Fucking LIB! LOL! Yet no comment. Hmmmm...

What I think it did is highlight that poster's dis-ingenuousness. But I digress. This whole PC fucking bullshit is exactly that. If a PERSON, and I don't much care what color or gender they are; if one wants to assault a police officer in the line of duty? Especially when they live in that environment and already know what is going to happen.

They have what is coming to them. I learned this at an early age. (And I'm white) If you can run away? Cool. You got out. Busted? Then it is, Yes sir. No sir. I understood that NO good would come from sassing after the fact. Why can't they?

This is not a case for the ACLU. This is just some ghetto bitches getting their "Black on".

Fuck that. *Spit!*

Reminds me of "National Security". (A film that satirizes black white relations.) Check that one out also. Very funny.

You're NOT an American.

Most Americans think Chris Rock is quite humorous (if not profane).

Go have a nice rest and put on some Leonard Cohen. :rsp

Every time I've watched him, I've not been impressed or made to laugh. It must be a cultural thing...

Must be. Because I can relate. Mayhap you never had your arse kicked by the PO lice.

Believe me. Been there done that. The smart thing is to shut the fuck up and cooperate.

I never had the luxury of having my homies video tape it. But when they got done with the paperwork?

I was lucky that I didn't get the death penalty. They (the officers on scene) write it as they see fit. And who are you to argue?

The DA is going to prosecute with extreme prejudice based on their word. Not yours.

They are the LAW after all...

Chris Rock, in many of his routines, has made very clear that he has little patience for ignorant or foolish behavior amongst those within the African American community. He makes the same points in many ways as Bill Cosby, but while Cosby does it in an intellectual, cerebral, sort of lecturing way, Rock does it in an edgy, hip, humorous, entertaining way. (Frankly, I think Rock's approach is likely to be more effective, especially with young people.)

Yes, he's trying to be entertaining, (afterall he's an entertainer) but he's also trying to send a wake up call to some folks.

In the video it looked like the woman in pink broke free from someone who was restraining her and shoved the officer while he was struggling to detain the other woman. Making her guilty of interfering with an officer in the performance of his duties and assault before he hit her.

I don't see his response as grossly disproportionate. Especially given that he was working alone.

Chris Rock is uninteresting.

In reviewing the video again, I really don't see much to disagree with there...

Except as I said before, I think that by getting into that prolonged wresting match while he was there by himself, with his back turned to a crowd of her friends, (who were obviously pissed off with what he was doing) he was acting somewhat recklessly...as I said, somebody could have easily grabbed his night stick, or even his gun (or whacked him from behind with a 2X4 or a piece of pipe) and the situation could have gotten much worse...

I think he might have been better advised to have backed off and called for back up before proceeding with the arrest.

I'd love to see what set him off, apparently it was just someone crossing the road in a style he didn't like?

Wading thru traffic disregarding vehicular traffic might have been a clue.

btw: I read that both the LEO and the jaywalker have kissed and made up. :)

FWIW 'Chris Rock: Kill the Messenger' has to be hands down his crowning achievement, and probably not the least of reasons President Obama got elected.

For Black Life in America commentary, which is educational as well as entertaining, see
'Good Hair'
According to Rock, he was prompted to make the movie after his 5-year-old daughter Lola asked him, "Daddy, how come I don't have good hair?"[3]

Well I've looked at a few Chris Rock skits on youtube, and apart from his ability to yell in a squeaky voice, I find nothing at all amusing about him, I think I probably have more comedic talent than he does.

That "Obey The Law" thing is just a bad rip off of "Women Know Your Limits", done in the early nineties by Harry Enfield.
