As I scramble to clear my desk in preparation for at least three weeks out of the office, I realize that trial attorneys don't really have time to be sick. Period.

ARGH!

I am likely to be off-board for the most part for at least a week or so, as I'm thinking y'all don't want me posting on Demerol. I'll get back on and let you know my news as soon as I'm able. I truly appreciate all the good thoughts; I believe it makes a difference to have people putting good vibes out into the Universe for me.

Late to the party, but all our thoughts are with you....

Oh, and I second what C-P said, that should make for interesting reading... ;)

Hi all!

Surgeon removed a 'small nerf-football-sized' (her words) tumor & the left ovary, plus a small cyst from right ovary.

All pathology results were clear of cancer. :D :ok

I'm already home from hospital, as I was doing great and right sick of the same four walls. On oral percoset & ibuprofen - so I can't promise any real imaginative posting, sadly.

Glad to be back and glad to be sharing good news. I'll still need to follow up on the other CAT scan results, but hopefully they will turn out to be no big deal.

Thanks so much for the prayers & good wishes. :D

I guess I have a high pain tolerance, LJ - I never reported over a 5 on the pain scale (right after surgery) and barely used the PCA of dilaudid they had me hooked to the first day in the hospital.

At present I'm taking 800mg ibuprofen 3x/day plus 325mg Percoset every 3-4 hours as needed - but the Percoset doesn't really cause much cognitive impairment, I just feel very relaxed and sleepy.

I should have posted just after surgery, when coming out of anesthesia I couldn't keep my eyes from crossing, LOL - but I didn't bring my laptop to the hospital. C'est la vie!

I presume this was done laproscopically thus that lack of really good drugs? I had a total trans-vaginal "hysterectomy" plus the cervix removed PLUS a hernia fixed with mesh, in 2008 and got no good drugs at all. It was all done laproscopically and in fact I was in overnight without actually being admitted. I think I did get percocet overnight.

I am glad you are fine and I am sure you are going to be fine with the other tests.

Not laproscopic, because the tumor at 15cm was too big to remove that way and due to the possibility of having to take other organs if there was cancer, I got the abdominal cut. It's only about 4 inches and it looks like when it heals it will be a very small scar - not that I care too much, I'm not a bikini girl, really.

My lady surgeon had tiny hands, which I jokingly told her was a good thing because I'm built like a Toyota inside - all the parts crammed in close. Anyway, I think it must be that she did such a good job why I have very little pain. Seriously the worst pain thus far has been as my bowels got working and I've started passing gas, LOL.

I was honestly terrified about the post-surgical pain, that it would be terrible and I would be a total wuss about it - but I feel pretty great and imagine it will only get better with time. I'm grateful.

My prayers have often had good results.

Maybe my prayers are answered because they are far and few between and I only pray for things that are extremely important.

Or maybe they aren't really answered and I'm just lucky sometimes.

Other than the result, it doesn't matter much to me.
