You've not read muchly about horses?

No, not really.  To me, a 'crick' is a slang term for a muscle spasm (a crick in the neck or back), or the way some people misspell / phonetically spell the word 'creek' – as in, "I'm headin' down to th' crick to do a little fishin'."

And with so many other perfectly good words out there, I don't think the '-ordle' games need to sink into slang, 'urban' spellings like 'phat' or 'smol', text-speak like ROFL or TTFN, or British spellings (substituting an 's' for the 'z' in '-ize' suffixes, for example, or the superfluous 'u' in words like 'favour', 'colour', 'neighbour', or 'honour').
