I agree. I was a dissambler/reassembler in my youth, and tought my children the same. Usually reassembled with my "personal touch".It is not much of an invention by any stretch but something can be learned by assembling the parts.
I do most of my own "fixing" around the house (washers, dryers, faucets, AC's, etc) which I can thank to "tinkering" when I was young. Dad did/does it, I do it and my kids do it (even my daughter).
