I dvr'd the game so I could fast forward through the football and watch the commercials. I found them generally very anemic this year. I also see that many of my facebook people hated the halftime show.

Next year the game will be on my front porch. Not looking forward to that at all.

Part of the reason people might have hated the halftime show was that the sound quality was pathetic. Yet another failure of organization on the ground after the paralysis in pre-game preparation due to the dusting of snow the Dallas area received in last week's storm. Ironically many of the cities in the Northeast and Midwest that got battered with storm after storm would have done a better job of recovering than Dallas managed after getting a few fingers depth of snow.

I have not seen a decent halftime show in over ten years. (That includes wardrobe malfunctions) That's usually when me and me mates would step out...

Commercials? Fuck me running. All I can do is shake my head and say: They paid a bazillion dollars per second for that piece of shite?!

Whatever... The Packers won. and the Lombardi Trophy goes back to TITLE TOWN where it belongs. And All is right in the universe. Until 2012 anyway...

I didn't have a dog in this race as the Steelers beat my Jets a couple of weeks ago. But the game was entertaining and that's what I look for as the Jets are never in it. And unless the Pats are in it and I can root for whatever team is playing aginst it, I just want a good close game.

Sorry about your Steelers Miles but it's tuff to overcome three turnovers.

The commercials sucked this year. more then a few left me scratching my head wondering what they were advertising.
Half time show sucked as well.

But there was a plus side, my wife is finally starting to like watching football and (even better) starting to understand the game. So rather than sitting in my man cave downstairs on Sunday, maybe I can enjoy my Hi-Def TV in the living room as the wife will be watching football with me.

I actually didn't mind the half time show, which is a big rave from me (although I did like the one with The Who, that many have called one of the worst half time shows ever), but the game was entertaining, which is more than can be said about most Super Bowls. I try to avoid the commercials as much as possible.

I didn't see the event, but just out of curiosity, what is it that people didn't like about the half-time show, and what would make for a good half-time show? Or are they always destined to suck?

Overall the sound sucked (and I have dolby piping through my stereo system) so it should have been tolerable. IMO they should just have the local high school (or college) marching band come in and do their thing. For the last four years we have made it a point to go down to the Univ of Maryland (daughters college) and attend at least one football game. I like the marching band playing at half time. At least they are into it.
