A Lovely, Joyful Ceremony...
Re: A Lovely, Joyful Ceremony...
It’s still quite a story of a hungry stray dog ending up a royal pampered pet - pretty good for a little Guy!
For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.

Sadly they didn't open the window for him to stick his head out; the best part of a car ride for a dog.

Another nice thought is that he is now probably living much better than the assholes who abandoned him...

A Lovely, Joyful Ceremony...
Re. Guy, the beagle:
I used keywords "In 2015 a Beagle was found alone in the woods in Kentucky" and this is what I got. "FALSE" -- with no exceptions nor caveats.
To me it appears that the whole shaggy dog tale is bogus, and indicates that no part of it is factual. I think this is how gullible people are sucked in by FAKE NEWS, and exactly how it spreads. Lord Dampnut would be proud.
So, if I am wrong, please set me straight -- you know I'm really slow on the uptake.

https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/did-b ... l-wedding/On 21 May 2018, Facebook users shared a post about the purported rags-to-riches story of Meghan Markle’s rescued beagle Guy, culminating in the dog escorting Queen Elizabeth to the royal wedding reception earlier that week:
Also:
http://mitsuu.com/funny/did-meghan-mark ... l-wedding/The story appeared to come on the same day in a post on LaineyGossip.com about Guy traveling with the Queen. While it is true that Queen Elizabeth was seen traveling with an unidentified dog before marriage, she also owns two corgis or dachschund-corgi blends. Queen Elizabeth arrived at the ceremony in a different vehicle and unaccompanied by a dog, and statements about her journeys with Royal Wedding Day appear to be inferences based solely on short images captured a day before the wedding.

Re: A Lovely, Joyful Ceremony...
Ray — The specific question that Snopes answered in their story was “Did Meghan Markle’s Dog Accompany Queen Elizabeth to the Royal Wedding?” (BTW, you didn't have to search for the Snopes article; I included the link in my post.) They did indeed answer *THAT* question: “Despite rumors, the queen did not escort Meghan Markle's rescued beagle Guy to the royal wedding.”...and they did indeed trace the story about the beagle travelling with Liz to a video of the the Queen on the Daily Fail website (which actually didn't mention the dog at all) as well as a post on LaineyGossip.com. But Snopes did not say anything at all about the rest of the story being false, and even included a link to a Nov.2017 Facebook post about Guy and Markle from the Oakville, Ontario beagle rescue group A Dog's Dream. I was also able to find several other stories (here's one from HuffPo) referencing the fact that the dog came to Canada from Kentucky and that Markle adopted him in 2015 through a pet adoption event in Milton, Ont., and that she took him with her when she moved to England.

People who are wrong are just as sure they're right as people who are right. The only difference is, they're wrong.
