Men who are threatened by and thus demean highly educated women are just about the most pathetic thing going.
Why are these highly educated women going around threatening men?

They should be stopped.

Interesting. When I wrote my response above, BSG's post contained the words I quoted. But by the time I pressed the 'submit' button, they had disappeared.

I edited the post because I felt the cartoon said all that needed saying.

One of the sad realizations of this life has been the coming to know that so many knuckle draggers are offended by seeing women with books. That some would attack me for having spent years professing my knowledge of literature and law to university students. That I would be attacked for such experience and belittled as though it wasn’t really true, as though there aren’t college catalogs and syllabi and alumni who could all attest to the truth of it. That it should be insinuated I’m a fraud all because some penis with an attitude doesn’t like me.

No, no. Stop this thread. That's silly. I myself am a strong supporter of women with boobs and there's nothing dragging on me, you can be sure! Now let's all move along and see something more entertaining

There is a unit manager who posted this on our office wall:
To women who are labeled aggressive, keep being assertive
To women who are labeled bossy, keep leading
To the women called difficult, keep telling the truth.
There are a couple of other lines but you get the gist. This woman posted this in response to disciplinary action taken against her by upper management for being a fucking, bitter, nasty cunt after multiple staff and resident complaints.. In a business that is primary run by and serving females, she is absolutely loathed, universally. I would point out that other females on this board are highly respected for their superior knowledge and intellect, they have a superior presentation of that knowledge and intellect.

But you men are men so that's why.

Good one, Joe!

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

BSG, I am baffled by your posts in this thread. I admit that is my bad. I have been a registered voter in Delaware for 48 years. Former VP and Senator Biden has been a well known staple in local news for most of that time. NEVER has it come to my attention that any news media here has described the man as symbolically, metaphorically, or actually had his manhood lessened in any way by his second wife, or by the regard his second wife has achieved independent of him. NEVER.

Just what were you intending by posting that Star Trek styled cartoon above? That you did it without comment indicates you agree with its blunt assessment of Bidens masculine behavior, or lack there of. At least as the creator of that cartoon sees it.

What is this nonsense about the village unemployed lawyer having been a "University Professor"? Is that as in Nutty Professor or TA, which is in no reality a University Professor. I am sure she would not mind offering proof of her being a University Professor.

I smell xxxL pants on fire.

This started because WSJ published an op-ed by Joseph Epstein in which he suggested, in annoyingly patriarchal terms, that Jill Biden should stop asking to be addressed as Dr Jill Biden because she is not a medical doctor. She has a doctorate in education from the University of Delaware. Mr Epstein is apparently unfamiliar with the academic practice of using such honorifics when they have been earned. Mr Epstein is 83 and has a long history of homophobic and anti feminist rants.

I must admit that I was surprised to see this in the WSJ. They are not usually that outwardly illiberal. OTOH I'm glad they published it because I need to see occasionally how these people think.

The only dicks that have fallen off are those of Mr Epstein (and let's face it, at 83 I doubt it's getting a lot of use) and those who think like him. Fortunately they are becoming fewer and fewer; I doubt that there are any on this board despite a wide range of views; and their influence is becoming less and less.

I don't know what anyone's gender has to do with differences of opinion on the subject of this thread. But since it has somehow become part of the topic drift....

(I think I posted this once before)

So, can you tell us how a professor, with all that education, ability and status, became a care home helper?

Professors are the highest ranking members of a University’s faculty, and experts within their own academic field. Although the job may sometimes require traditional teaching duties, such as giving lectures, the majority of a Professor’s time will be spent on co-ordinating and conducting their own research. Often they may also serve as heads of their own individual departments.

There is no specific degree that allows you to qualify to become a Professor. However, you will generally need a PhD in the field you’re looking to teach in.
A link to your research papers perhaps?

It's called burnout. The stress levels that come with those career paths take their toll. Same reason why I went from a software engineering career that paid nicely to inspecting housekeeper's work and cleaning walls with magic erasers for slightly more than local minimum wage.

I think the type of work that BSG is doing right now is very honorable and shouldn't be criticized. I just don't like it when she goes all wacko and lists all of her experience and education and portrays herself as a victim of evil sexist men when they disagree with her on any subject.

I have many years of hands-on experience with the female gender along with multiple interactions with working females so I am considered an expert in my field.

While I appreciate that can happen to anyone in any field, (my field had a very high attrition rate,) I think the chances of our resident histrionic, hypocritical, harpy, having been a "professor" are as high as the chances of Donald Trump becoming a nun.
