By chance do you still have your wisdom teeth?
I have the two on the right side. The top one is partly out the gum and hte bottom is still in the gum. The dentist always asks how come I didn't have them taken out when I had the other side done. I told him they were not bothering me. He said they will. Been 30 years and they haven't bothered me at all. (knock on wood)

Well, I'm pro-choice on this one; having dated men of both stripes- I don't think it makes any difference, if you have one or not. So, why ban anything?

You may be pro-choice but whose choice?
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

My point is that newborn boys don't often get offered the choice...

It should if you're pro-choice. Unless of course you are pro-choice of people making lifelong decisions on behalf of another human being...

No, that would be supporting this legislation, regardless the impact on the individuals. .

I'm confused. Exactly whose choice do you support here?

Sean how many lifelong decisions will/have you make/made on behalf of your child? As a parent such decisions are unavoidable for even if you choose not to decide on them that decision often has to a lifelong impact.

I'm sure you like I struggle your way through these almost everyday decisions utilizing the best information you have available wishing you had paid more attention to these sort of things earlier in life upon the realization how ill prepared you are for most of them yet marching on anyway in hopes that you don't fuck up the kid too badly.

Fuck me how did I miss this thread!

I thought it was friggin spam!!

Circumcision is barbaric whether it be performed on a male or female. Medical reasons fair enough, I have a male friend who was circumcised at 21 along with a testicle that needed descending. Poor bastard was in a lot of pain.

For any other reason eg religion or vanity (which is basically what it is) IMHO I think its wrong, very wrong.

All this "its more hygenic"....Pile of fuckin crap...wash ya nob ya dirty lazy fucker! unwashed nob = no blowjobs, no bird wants a mouthful of smeg, just the same as you guys don't want a mouthfull of 3 day old tuna thats sat in the sun!

You teach your child hygiene. I have taught Pudd since he was 18 months and I quote and he can parrot it "Wash your doodle (nob in our house) pull your foreskin back and wash out the cheesy bits, cos nobody likes a cheesy doodle!!" Its like teaching a child to brush their teeth.

I have seen more infants come into the ED with post circumcision infections than I have with foreskin problems!

Those of you who are pro circumcision and have made the decision to take a childs foreskin off for vanities sake....... Would you take a babies appendix out and with no anaesetic? That has no use, and they MAY get appendicitis. They never anaesthetise an infant for circumcision here and atleast the foreskin is of use...protection.

I was 23 when I had my first encounter with a circumcised nob.....I asked the guy how he had a wank......lol...... A nob is a nob and lets face it hard or flaccid they aint the prettiest of things so i really dont care from a female sexual point of view as long as its clean and they know what they are doing with it.

In the UK circumcision is only done (in the mainstream) for medical or religious reasons. My father and 2 brothers were not circumcised. My exes in the UK were not. Several of my Aussie ones were and when I have asked them why.....its the stock standard answer "my dad was done, it was the done thing" Thank god thats changed here now.

The boys in Pudds class NONE of them are circumcised. It is now the exception here rather than the norm.

Anyone who circumcises their child (except for medical reasons,) is guilty of child mutilation. Religious freaks are included in that statement!

They use local (topical) anastetic SMF. Perhaps ypu should do some research before going off.

Not to mention comparing circumsision to abdominal surgery just shows plain ignorance.

Nicely put CP. However the decision to not circumcise does not have a lifelong input whereas the decision to circumcise does. The decision we made not to have our son circumcised is reversible if ever it became medically necessary. As things stand it was not medically necessary so we made the decision not to mutilate our child but instead to teach him good hygiene.

The thing is it's not entirely a queston of personal hygiene. As I said I sort of chickened out and let my wife decide the issue and she was strongly anti circumsision until she saw the the myriad of problems (especially in the elderly) associated with still having it combined with the differences in healing time and apparent difference in pain experienced from the procedure between an infant and "adult". (though I think that may be because infants are for more stoic than we give them credit for)

Of course my family comes under the rubric of "religious freaks" (thanks, SMF!) who engage in this tribal custom. (For us, it's just another excuse for a party.) Personally, I don't consider it "mutilation" any more than piercing a child's ears is "mutilation," but ymmv. To me, it is a harmless cultural practice. I have never met any man who complained of being circumcised, nor any who complained of not being circumscised. As rubato said, it's too minor a decision to waste a lot of sweat over.
GAH!

Do youse Jews still have it done later in life or do you keep the
Moyle on speed dial the last trimester? (I hope that's the spelling of the cutter.)

Any Moyles ever get sued for botching the job?

Does it actually say "thou shalt cut off the foreskin" in the old Testament?

If we were created in God's image do you believe ... Never mind.
