So this was a good thing for the dog.

That's alright then.
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

Interesting opinion. My point was that it was the human life that was more important. If you click on the 'enlarge' feature; then you can see coming towards the IED are two men, a woman and a child. This might be because that looked like a residential neighborhood. My position is that if it was to spare a family, and whatever number of soldiers, then it was worth it.

I'm sure it was lots of fun and the dog would have come back for more. If there'd been anything left of the dog.

LOL ;) Well, wouldn't have been a natural behavior for an abused dog, that kind of thing usually gives them PTSD. ...but the topic started out as a fabrication, I guess it'll end as one.

Incidentally, after Timster's gentle ribbing, I watched the video.

It seemed very clear to me that the audio supports intent on the part of the soldiers to have the dog meet that end, and a great deal of satisfaction afterward.

lets assume the analysis of the video is true.

During the entire iraqi occupation, nearly every IED was filmed, by the setters of the IEDs (which I refrain from calling iraqis)

In these cases, they were laughing, and glad, and happy, and willing to do it again. So detailed was the video and audio of these detonations that al jaz ran and runs them DAILY. So precise are the locations and timings, that HBO was able to gather the actual film of soldiers being injured for a special they ran a few years back during the election cycle, starring james gandalfini talking to injured soldiers.

So it appears that people are outraged over a video that may or maynot be setup to kill a dog (it wasnt - but that is apparently irrelevant) but are mum about thousands of videos captured to show the world americans being killed and maimed.

the filmers of this video are not the ones with the problem.

'Cha, the mention of the association to the 'squirrel fling' video was obvious, however the thing is; prior to watching the squirrel, I'd been watching a lot of footage from the perspective of US, UK and insurgent troops. I didn't see any Iraqis beat up children, but I did see British troops do it. On the other hand, I didn't see any Western allies booby-trap live donkeys to blow up, like the Iraqi do.
I did say I was jaded; jaded enough to enjoy finding a common squirrel get flinged and living happily ever after, pretty harmlessly funny.

That squirrel vid was just one taping, now I have a whole LiveLeak site to enjoy of 'Raw Video: Man Dies After Eating Cocaine From Brother's Butt'; 'Woman Walking Dogs Is Attacked By Stray Pit Bulls In Brazil!!' and 'Crazy Man Sets Himself On Fire, Then Jumps Off Bridge!' and these are Recent items under (Popular) and Must See ...to make me think being jaded enough to see that the Daily Mail story was largely fabricated; is a good thing.

My question would be 1st, who placed the explosive?

2nd why was the dog so attracted to it?

The video only shows a short segment of what I'm sure is a lengthy procedure, There's a very good possibility it was done so purposely to make the soldiers appear as villains.

judging from what I see at the rest of this site...

BTW Lo you do realize this was bait
Sometimes it seems as though one has to cross the line just to figger out where it is

Yup, but I had fun with it. I was planning on bringing up the association in 'Alpha of Arabia', as there are still more interesting details to the story. ...plus photos! ;)
Yes, of course just the safe for work ones.
There's getting a YouTube blurb, and then there's an in depth [still on-going] study of the experiences of an individual who's been on the ground, in multiple aspects, for seven+ years! Human beings are complicated; you can't say people do things just because they are 'good' or 'evil'; 'black' or 'white' or just because they 'love' or 'hate'.
