229 (x 10,000 = 2,290,000 the minimum number of people likely to be killed by a limited nuclear strike on Seoul by Kim Jong-un in retaliation for any serious US provocation - so let's hope Donald quits sabre rattling at the suicidal nutjob)

10/12 and 435, my best week ever.
It's odd because I've been doing battle with my local newspaper over several days of non-delivery. In the last nine days, I've received three papers, all over the weekends. I've tried their report by phone recording, online reporting, and even talking to a girl in India. So far, no joy, and no paper again this morning. I guess my score shows how little I need it. Unfortunately Mrs Mc paid for it a year in advance in February. They already have our money. What do they care?

I'd be more apt to believe that someone else is helping themselves to your paper. I've seen enough home security videos of people walking up to a house in broad daylight and walking off with FedEx and UPS packages left at the door not to think that way.MGMcAnick wrote:10/12 and 435, my best week ever.

I don't think theft is an issue in my neighborhood, although with the death of one 88 year old neighbor last month, another moving into "the home" in December, and another cancelling her subscription due to poor service, I suppose it's possible. I'm the only one on the cul-de-sac (Is that really French for dead end?) who still tries to get it.Bicycle Bill wrote: I'd be more apt to believe that someone else is helping themselves to your paper.
According to a guy I know, who used to be the paper's circulation manager, they have outsourced their deliveries to two companies, dividing the city east/west. He quit right before that. I think he saw the writing on the wall. His friends, who are still there, say it's a fiasco all over the area. The carrier who threw my paper for about 25 years retired seven or eight years ago. The next guy lasted six or seven years. I'll bet we've had four carriers in the last two years. I don't know exactly when they outsourced the fiasco.
