After 4, 3-2 Phillies...

I have to say, I'm not a huge baseball fan, but these have been two very exciting post season series.....

Except for that 6-1 Phillies blow out in game two, every game in this series and the one before it against the tomahawk choppers, has been a down to the wire nail biter....

The Giants never win pretty, and they never win easy....but they get it done....

Their philosophy seems to be, "never score one more run than you absolutely need"....

Now hang about a minute Jim, were you not the person complaining that soccer was boring, due to the low score rate?

Baseball doesn't "break for quarters"....there is a 7th inning stretch, though.

There are NO TIES in basball, the game must continue until someone wins.

Final score, Giants lose, 4-2....

I said I had a bad feeling about this game before the first pitch was thrown....

And once again, as so frequently turns out to be the case, I was absolutely right....

Man, there are times I wish I wasn't so damn prescient.....

It's a blessing and a curse....

Well, the Giants will win it in Philly on Saturday and take it in six....

Just as I predicted....

The Giants are a much better team than I had given them credit for, and these have been very tough and well-played games. But no matter who wins, we can all blame Obama.

Oh, and cheesesteak is one word, and Danny DeVito notwithstanding, after Labor Day no one in Philly really gives a shit if it's sunny or not; we all still gotta work our shifts.

Now hold on there just a guldern cotton pickin' minute...

The Bay Area has a population in excess eight million...

The greatest market nightmare would probably be a Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Indians World Series....

Two teams located in central Ohio....

I don't have a lot of positive things to say for this burgh, but one thing I will say about it without reservation...

It's a classier place than Cincinnati.... :nana

you must be working with a new definition of "central"
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

Most people I've spoken to on the subject would prefer to see a couple of teams that haven't been to the Series in a while.

As long as the Yankees and Phillies are not in it, I'm a hppy camper.
Won't be able to watch it anyway as Fox and Cablevision are still "at odds" over retransmission fees.

I predict the Giants in six....

You heard it first here.... 8-)
I have to say I don't feel great about today's game....

I hope I'm wrong, but my Leroy Jethro Gibbs gut feeling tells me the Phillies have one more win left in them....I said I had a bad feeling about this game before the first pitch was thrown....
And once again, as so frequently turns out to be the case, I was absolutely right....

Man, there are times I wish I wasn't so damn prescient.....

And once again I was right.... :)

Oh damn...

I dislocated my shoulder patting myself on the back, again....

I just hate it when that happens...

My only regret is that we won't have The New York Yankees to make the guests of honor at The Butt Kicking Contest...

However I will take some personal satisfaction, as The Texas Rangers were the team that was stolen (and my youthful love for baseball along with it) from Washington in 1971, and transplanted to Dallas Cowboy Land...

Any predictions for the World Series?

I predict the Giants will slug it out to game 7 and win by a nose. 8-)
