Thanks for the link Dales (bosco).

That really was a much more interesting and richer group than we have now. By more than 10x. Public radio was a very good attractor for a diverse and highly literate group of people. Too many are missed to name them all. Sorry that CD melted down like that.

I remember when you posted that link back at the CSB, Dale...

I spent a couple of hours "strolling down memory lane"....

One of the things that cracked me up was that 10 years ago, I was already talking about "the good old days"....

By the summer of 2001, the Cafe Darte was already well into it's death throes....

"The Golden Age" was the mid to late 90's...

I met 20 plus "Darters" at various FTF meet ups around the country; in DC, LA, Las Vegas, San Fran, Sacramento....

At one time Dorothy and I had a running competition going to see who would meet FTF with the most folks...

Alot of those folks are still posting over at The Chat House, (I haven't stopped by there in a long time; I really should) but a lot of them have drifted away:

Buzz Lightyear, Nette and Doc Brown, (I met them at a face FTF in LA; went boogie boarding with Buzz; Nette sent me a bottle of Single Malt Scotch)

English Guy and Mrs. AoD (met them in DC, great folks)

Birdman... (met him in Sacramento; he was the only other conservative posting at the Cafe when I first arrived)

I had an e-mail off Meade yesterday. Seems like his project is doing good works still, and they have had success in getting water flowing at the orphanage. I'll be sending some $$ as a "Xmas present donation" in respect of the season, and out of admiration for Meade leaving a first world country, then going to live in a third world fleapit, before leaving there and going to Africa...
