Mr. Holloway is obviously one helluva guy, (a better man than I would probably be in that situation) who has more decency and compassion in his little finger than that whole gang of junior league Visigoths and their waste of skin parents put together. He has more concern for these kids who trashed his house than their own parents do.Former Patriots Lineman Brian Holloway’s House Gets Trashed by 300 Teenagers, Leads to Threats, Charity Effort
A Labor Day weekend party that drew 300 wild teenagers and caused $20,000 worth in damages is resulting in threats and a charity effort. But the threats aren’t from former Patriots offensive lineman Brian Holloway, who was the one who got to find out that his house had been destroyed by unruly kids.
And the charity effort isn’t from people trying to recoup the money he lost. Rather, Holloway has started an online group called Help Me Save 300 to raise money to try to help the same teenagers who trashed his house.
And the threats? Well, they’re coming from the parents of the kids involved in the party, who Holloway says are upset at him for posting photos of the teenagers on his website (which he could do because the teenagers posted tons of photos of themselves after wrecking his house).
Here’s what happened: Holloway’s vacant home in Stephentown, N.Y., which he is trying to sell, was broken into and used by 300 teenagers for a Labor Day weekend party, according to wnyt.com. About $20,000 worth of damage was done, and teenagers posted photos of themselves partying (after previously using the Internet to advertise the upcoming party).
Holloway has since posted about 90 names of kids he’s been able to tie to the party, angering some parents. “Yeah, I got some threats, you know, ‘We’re gonna get you, and we know where your home is,’ and you know ‘houses do get firebombed,’” [Gee, the acorns didn't fall very far from the trees...]Holloway told wnyt.com.
But Holloway’s reason for posting the photos — and arriving back in town to check out the damage — isn’t to get the kids in trouble. He’s instead talking about encouraging the community to point the teenagers in a different direction. Holloway’s Help Me Save 300 effort aims “to help straighten the paths” of the teenagers involved, according to Deadspin.
The screenshots of tweets and photos Holloway has posted online are his way “to try and meet and speak with” the kids who did the damage. Holloway will take donations to fix the house, which he’s trying to sell for about $1.5 million, but he says the focus is on helping the teenagers.
“What is even more dangerous and shocking beyond the crimes, drugs and alcohol was reading the tweets and hearing them celebrate their destruction and documenting their crimes,” he wrote in a statement on his website. He also wrote about having “looked down at the caskets of my children’s classmates” and wanting to know whether he could “do something.” Check out Holloway’s effort on helpmesave300.com, and take a look at some photos of local teenagers who came to help Holloway clean up on Tuesday below.

Some Parents Need A Bitch Slapping...
Or maybe the opportunity to have this done to their house:

Re: Some Parents Need A Bitch Slapping...
Well it's nice to see that not everyone who lives in this burg is a schmuck:
I cannot however, find anything about apologies or clean up help coming from any of the little piggies that were involved in this or their parents...
One news commentator who was talking about this said that if her kid had been involved in something like this they would have marched them to Holloway's house to apologize and that they would have spent every day for the next six months cleaning that house and if that was done spend the time on additional community clean up projects like garbage pick up and graffiti removal.
That's exactly the way I feel; to me that's the normal, sane, healthy way a parent should respond to something like this. (It's certainly how my parents would have responded.) It's the responsible attitude to take; the approach that would help teach your kid that this kind of thing is totally unacceptable, and that if you do something like this, there are consequences for your actions.
Instead this guy gets parents threatening to fire bomb his house....
http://www.syracuse.com/news/index.ssf/ ... house.htmlMeanwhile, a group of Cohoes High School juniors took matters into their own hands Tuesday, volunteering to clean urine-stained carpets and repair other damage caused by the party, timesunion.com reported. They also gave Holloway a plate of brownies and an apology card. Said Gina Martini, 16:
"We just wanted to show him that not all teenagers in the world do these kind of things."

Re: Some Parents Need A Bitch Slapping...
Let me get this straight. Some brats (too light an adjective) partied and trashed the house and put their own pictures on the internet and the owner of the house reused those pictures pointing out that they are the ones who trashed his house and the parents are upset and threatening him?
If it were my kids.......
Lets just say their freedom would be gone until things were rectified (and probably even longer).
And more power to Hollaway taking the bad and trying to good with it.

It gets worse:
Ex-NFL star Brian Holloway may be sued by parents of teens who allegedly trashed his upstate NY home
By Jaime Uribarri / NEW YORK DAILY NEWS

If Brian Holloway thought the hundreds of teenagers who destroyed his home were ruthless, wait until their families are through with him.
Several parents are reportedly considering lawsuits against the former NFL star after he posted their children's names on a website created in the wake of the Labor Day weekend house party.
The website, http://www.helpmesave300.com, identifies over 100 of the estimated 300 house-crashers who trashed his upstate New York residence, and includes photos and tweets that documented the reckless destruction.
But rather than apologize to Holloway for their children's behavior, some parents have contacted their lawyers to see what legal action they can take against the former Patriots and Raiders offensive lineman, local affiliate ABC News 10 reported.
"Parents have threatened me," Holloway, a three-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl XX veteran, told ABC News. "Your kids are in my house breaking and stealing my stuff and you are mad at me because I posted pictures that they took and posted themselves of them partying and tearing things up?"![]()

Even more troubling for Holloway is the fact that he offered parents the chance to make amends for the estimated $20,000 in damage caused to his house, including smashed windows and glass doors, urinated carpets, holes in the ceilings, as well as a stolen eagle statue that was part of a memorial for his stillborn grandson.
The former grid iron star is holding a picnic for veterans at the home on Saturday, and invited the rowdy teens and their parents to help him clean the house.
"Come out and help set up, fix up, bring food, and picnic stuff, so we can honor these real HEROS," he wrote on his website. "I'm here. Come now. Take a stand for your future. This is called redemption."
The invitation fell on deaf ears.
"I expected 100 parents to show. Only one showed up," he told ABC News.
Had more of them taken up Holloway on his offer, they would have seen evidence of illegal drug and alcohol use in addition to random acts of violence.
"You can see the scars on the floor from where the keggers were brought through. The carpet, there was beer liquor and everything else you can think of, so we had to remove the carpet."
Holloway, who was in his primary residence in Lutz, Fl., at the time of the party, hasn't decided whether he'll press charges against the teenagers.[After the reactions and responses he has received from these punks' punk-ass parents, if he doesn't press charges he should be in line for Sainthood...it seems to me that given the kind of parents these kids have that if he presses charges against them he'd be doing them a huge favor. They're obviously not going to learn any lessons any other way.]

Agreed, he should sue each and every one of them, they posted the images, fair use.

Re: Some Parents Need A Bitch Slapping...
Just caught Holloway being interviewed on The View. In the midst of what he was saying, he slipped in a quick comment that all of the evidence identifying those involved is in the hands of the police. When asked if charges are going to be laid, he said, "you'll know it when you see it." Will serve the hoodlums right. It sounded like he wouldn't have resorted to that if he had gotten a better response to his request to clean up the place, but only 5 of 300 kids came forward.
And he should be suing their parents, rather than the other way around. Let them sweat it out worrying whether they are going to lose their homes because they let their brats run wild.

Re: Some Parents Need A Bitch Slapping...
http://www.timesunion.com/local/article ... 846124.phpArrests begin in Holloway house-trashing case
Six ringleaders who helped organize a massive high-school party that left former NFL player Brian Holloway's home trashed have been arrested, authorities said Thursday.
The defendants face a raft of charges, including felony counts of burglary and criminal mischief and misdemeanor charges of endangering the welfare of a child and criminal trespass, Rensselaer County Sheriff Jack Mahar said.
"There will be many more arrests," Sgt. Shane Holcomb said Thursday outside the Stephentown Town Court, where the group was arraigned.
Town Justice Cyril Grant ordered the defendants released pending further action.
Holcomb said the investigation is ongoing and everyone who can be identified as an attendee will be charged with criminal trespass at the least. He expects the final tally will be in the hundreds, and estimated as a many as 400 young people may have been at the party.
He encouraged partygoers to come forward on their own, which will earn them leniency. He said social media played a major role in identifying those who will be charged, adding partygoers may have been let into the house, but did not say who gave them a key.
Some of those arrested showed significant remorse, while others did not, Holcomb said. He said parents had the same mixed reaction.
Those arrested are:
Seth Hawk, 19, of Grafton, charged with third-degree burglary and fourth-degree criminal mischief, both felonies; and endangering the welfare of a child and unlawfully dealing with a child, both misdemeanors, for allegedly organizing and advertising the party and providing alcohol.
Juan Santana, 20, of Grafton, charged with misdemeanors of second-degree criminal trespass, endangering the welfare of a child and unlawfully dealing with a child for allegedly providing alcohol.
Cody D. Blain, 21, of Berlin, charged with misdemeanors second-degree criminal trespass, endangering the welfare of a child and unlawfully dealing with a child for allegedly providing alcohol.
Meghan Loiselle, 18, of Green Island, charged with felony fourth-degree grand larceny for allegedly stealing a granite eagle statue valued at more than $1,200, and second-degree criminal trespass.
Mackenzie Grogan, 17, of Cohoes, charged with fourth-degree felony grand larceny for allegedly stealing the statue, and second-degree criminal trespass.
Keely C. Sullivan, 18, of Troy, charged with fourth-degree felony grand larceny for allegedly stealing the statue, and second-degree criminal trespass.
Mahar said there would be more arrests and that deputies and investigators must make contact with a couple of hundred people at the party before more arrests come.
The arrests follow Holloway's submission of paperwork calling for charges against any of the hundreds who allegedly vandalized the home. According to copies of the affidavits listed on Holloway's helpmesave300.com website, a larceny or criminal possession complaint was filed for the eagle statue allegedly stolen from the home and a trespass/burglary complaint was filed for the party being held without his permission.
Before the arrests Thursday, Holloway said he decided to file the paperwork because he had given the teens and their parents enough time to come forward. He said that had more than the handful of students come forward, he would have had a discussion about how the situation should be resolved without necessarily resorting to filing complaints.
"I gave them plenty of opportunities to come and speak with me," he said. "I even gave them the opportunity to get up here, bring all the parents and tell me how we should handle all this."[he gave them three weeks]
Holloway said it had come to the point that he needed to take a stand against those who didn't come forward. If he didn't, "then I would be just as guilty as the students and the parents that absolutely failed in stepping forward and being accountable," he said.
A mother of one of the teens at the party, who asked her name and her son's name not be used for fear of repercussions, said before the arrests that she wouldn't want to subject her son to the media circus created by the incident by coming forward.[What a dumb fuck...Did she think Holloway was bluffing about pressing charges?]
She also objected to suggestions that she hasn't disciplined her teen.
"I'll punish him as I see fit," she said. "I don't need to punish him as Brian Holloway sees fit."[Now he'll be punished as the law sees fits, you friggin' moron]
Many of the teens named by Holloway on his website — he later took the names down — or visible in photos have been targeted for abuse by Internet vigilantes.
"He's a responsible kid," the mom said. "He's not a horrible, rotten teenage delinquent."
She said her son was at the party for 45 minutes before coming home and saw no vandalism or stealing.
The Aug. 31 party left Holloway's second home — he spends most of his time in Florida — with what he said is $20,000 in damage.
Holloway said he has more than "200 pieces of evidence to arrest all 300 of them" before saying "what I call evidence and what they (deputies) call evidence is probably two different things." He did not elaborate about the evidence.
He did not say what charges he would like to see lodged.
"It's really in their hands," Holloway said. "I'm not an officer."
The mom said she knows her son was in the wrong to be at the party, and she understands that he may face criminal trespassing charges.
"I don't think any parent could say that they were in the right by being there," she said. "But the direction this is going is completely out of control."[And who's fault is that, Einstein?]
I notice that all but one of the punks picked up in this initial round of arrests is a legal adult...
I hope they get the book thrown at them, and do time for every charge they're convicted of, and I hope the parents of those who have been and will be arrested are bled white paying legal fees trying to defend their little angels...
ETA:
And while throwing the book at most of them , if I were the DA I would use my prosecutorial discretion to not even charge the five that actually came forward to apologize and make amends. That way I could really drive the message home to the assholes and their asshole parents just how badly they fucked up by deciding to be assholes...

Re: Some Parents Need A Bitch Slapping...
In researching for updates on this story since I first posted about it I have read through a lot of comments about this on various blogs forums and websites. I did this mainly to see if there was anyone who would try to take the side of the parents in this...
I am heartened to report that out of probably at least a couple of hundred comments that I've skimmed through over the past couple of weeks, not one single person...not one...has expressed anything other than outrage, disgust, or ridicule for these punks and their parents. Not one single word of agreement or sympathy, or criticism for Holloway. (Except for a couple who criticized him for being too patient.)
I suspect that in some cases the reason that some kids and their parents didn't come forward to apologize, (and in some cases apparently have even had the cajones to threaten to sue Holloway) is because they've been getting some very bad legal advice...
I'll bet that some of these parents have lawyers who told them, "Don't come forward and apologize because junior could be facing criminal charges, and if he/she apologizes that will be an admission that they were there."
The problem with that of course is that if junior has already confessed to being there with texts, or emails, or tweets, and/or taken a picture of himself showing that he was there and plastered it all over the internet that train has pretty much already left the station....
The smart move in this case would have been to come forward and take your medicine and hope that by doing so the consequences would be less than what was certain to happen if you did not come forward...

Re: Some Parents Need A Bitch Slapping...
I heard Holloway interviewed on a local radio station last evening and he said that the kids that came to help only showed up for one day and never came back. He said coming for one day and and not coming back was not helpful and is equal to getting no help at all.
He said that some parents were threatening to sue him and the only evidence they had was tweets and pictures of their kids trashing the place, doing drugs and drinking - so he was kinda wondering what he would be accused of doing.

Re: Some Parents Need A Bitch Slapping...
I can't imagine a lawyer giving that kind of advice, especially since (aside from the ringleaders) the potential charges would be some sort of disorderly conduct offense that could be readily disposed of by paying a fine, without incurring any criminal record or substantial legal costs. In some jurisdictions, you can even get these types of charges held in abeyance an ultimately dismissed upon meeting certain requirements and completing a probationary period. And particularly with the publicity surrounding this particular matter, it seems pretty obvious to me that the only sound legal recommendation is to get out in front of the case quickly and get it resolved early, before it runs you over. Especially if you were dumb enough to post pictures of yourself at the event and/or tweet about how awesome it was to be there.Lord Jim wrote:I suspect that in some cases the reason that some kids and their parents didn't come forward to apologize, (and in some cases apparently have even had the cajones to threaten to sue Holloway) is because they've been getting some very bad legal advice...

Re: Some Parents Need A Bitch Slapping...
Now that the arrests have begun, I suspect there will suddenly be a bunch of these punks now coming forward to make admissions and point fingers at others in the hopes of getting a better deal...
Maybe some of them thought that because of the sheer numbers involved that Holloway and the cops were bluffing about actually following through on this. The fact of the matter is that the public outrage over this has become such that the police couldn't fail to see this through thoroughly even if they had wanted to. (and there's no indication that they did.)
However, with over 200 ultimately having to be processed and dealt with, it has got to create a strain on the resources of a small community. I really hope there's a way for them to recoup at least part of the costs from the parents, (and in the cases where they are 18 and over from the miscreants themselves.) I know some states and jurisdictions have laws making parents liable for criminal acts undertaken by their kids but I don't know if this is one of them.
