Child rearing redux...

Post by Lord Jim »

Once when Tati was about four years old, I told her, "okay sweetheart, it's time to put your toys away, and hit the sack"...

To which she replied, "you're not the boss of me"...(which her mother found very amusing, but I did not...I informed her that I was in fact "the boss of her" and that if she didn't listen to me I would tell Santa, and there would be fewer presents under the tree...)

I had a replay of this earlier this evening with Jimmy...

He was working away with his little train set, and I said, "okay kiddo, it's time to put your toys away and hit the sack..."

And he looks up at me, four years old, and he says:

"That is not happening..."

I damn near bust a gut laughing ... :D

(I don't know how it happens, but my kids seem to have been born with a sarcasm gene.... :) )

My nephews are both little drama kings. Lately the youngest, who admittedly has been a bit indulged as the baby of the family, had taken to a specific outburst when he doesn't get his way. He will say/yell "you're the worst" to whoever is making the ruling against him. But because he still has this slight baby lisp it comes out as "you're the wusst" (it really is funny in person) which just makes us all crack up. And of course that infuriates him more.

They are such funny little creatures. I love all their quirks!

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts
