First toddler to reach South Pole

A 16-year-old boy from Bristol has set a new record by becoming the youngest person to trek to the South Pole.
Lewis Clarke spent 48 days at temperatures as low as -50C (-58F) and winds of up to 120 mph (193 kmh).
He arrived at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station at 18:00 GMT after completing the gruelling 702-mile journey from the Antarctic coast.
He will now be submitting evidence to Guinness World Records so his claim can be officially verified.
Does anybody else find these "youngest person records" a bit daft?

Well, it may be less insulting than to give him the record for the most zits in Antarctica.
And which Zit would this be? Zit the Toddler? Zit the Embryo? Zit the Glint in the Milkman's Eye?

Well, I don't see a problem with having something that encourages young people to achieve impressive goals, (which I believe youth records help to do) provided the kids aren't pushed into dangerous attempts beyond their skill level by adults...(Which has happened.)
