Rob Ford video shows ‘drunk’ mayor rambling and swearing in Toronto restaurant



Rob Ford’s attempts to reform his image ahead of the mayoral election this year appear to have been shattered after a damaging new video surfaced Tuesday showing the Toronto mayor drunk, swearing and making offensive remarks about the city’s police chief.

Just moments after councillor Doug Ford rushed to defend his brother claiming “100% [the video] didn’t happen last night,” the major emerged Tuesday afternoon to confirm the clip had been taken Monday night, and that he had been drinking, further compounding the embarrassment for Ford Nation.

The new Ford video, which comes after repeated claims that he has not touched drugs or alcohol since November, when he admitted to smoking crack cocaine, shows the mayor rambling and swearing incoherently in Jamaican patois slang in a Toronto restaurant.

“I was with some friends and what I do in my personal life, with my personal friends, that’s up to me. This really has nothing to do with you guys,” Ford told reporters Tuesday afternoon.

The mayor wouldn’t address questions about his past claims that he quit drinking.

“C-cks–ker….F—ing Chief Blair,” Ford says at the start of the video, recorded in Steak Queen, a Rexdale-area restaurant. The video was posted to YouTube Tuesday, but the user did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

“They chase me around for five months man…bumbaclot,” Ford then says in slurred words, using a Jamaican patois slang term for “f–k.”


His next few sentences are incomprehensible. Ford has repeatedly claimed that he has not touched drugs or alcohol since November, when he admitted to smoking crack cocaine “in a drunken stupor.”

The video could be damaging to Ford’s campaign for re-election, [One would normally think so; in fact this alone would be enough to end the careers of most politicians, but this is Rob Ford... Strange Being from another planet with powers and abilities of political survival far beyond those of Mortal Men...] as he has staked his reputation to being clean and sober since November.

Ford “guaranteed” he has stopped drinking in interviews last year and told the CBC he had a “come to Jesus” moment about his drinking.

His office did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the video.

“Five months man, and trying to tell me … look, we’re countersurveilling the guy, you know what I mean? He’s hiding here, Ima hide here. … f–k off,” Ford continues.

“You know how much money that costs? I said why don’t you just cut something … ‘no man, no money man.’ Bumbaclot man.”

Ford occasionally mimics a Jamaican accent throughout the video, saying “no money, man.”

“I swear to God, man, honestly, man, it’s seriously s–t, man,” Ford says.

Later Tuesday evening, a second video emerged of Rob Ford’s appearance at Steak Queen,this one showing him meeting with a man who appears to be Alexander “Sandro” Lisi, the man who police documents allege was dealing narcotics at a time when he had frequent meetings with the mayor. The second video does not contain anything that the two might have been talking about.

Counter-surveillance was a term used to describe the techniques of accused drug dealer Lisi and Ford friend in police documents last year. Police began investigating after media reports in May said Ford appeared in a video, smoking crack cocaine and making homophobic and racist statements.

The investigation, undertaken by top homicide detectives, produced a 500-page search warrant document that featured the mayor in a number of bizarre situations and communicating with convicted criminals.
