Well, we weren't actually speaking of dancing; as I believe I've mentioned before, as a general principle, the only way you'll get me to dance is by shooting at my feet...(If you'd care to have a go at that, you can put your name on the waiting list; there's a que... )

With one exception....

The Father/Daughter Dinner Dance...

Which is this evening over at my daughter's high school...

I've been through this with Tati before, (back in her 7th and 8th grade years at her previous school)

"Sweetheart, you know I'm not a great dancer; I don't want to embarrass you in front of your friends..."

(Though I've seen most of that lot at The Parent Guild meetings; They don't look like a bunch of Fred Astaire's to me... )


And my little girl says to me, "its not about being funny; it's about being there for me...

So we'll do this tonight, my dancing skills notwithstanding...

Good for you Lord Jim.
I went through this myself. While I am not a "new age" dancer, I have taken some ballroom dancing classes and held my own during songs that had those beats. While everyone else was just swaying with their daughters, we got to do some actual dance moves.

Remember, A son is your son until he takes a wife, a daughter is your daughter for all your life.
