Drunk, drunk, drunk driving

A 30-year-old Crace man who was allegedly caught drink-driving on three separate occasions within five hours has faced court.
Officers pulled over a black Subaru Impreza station wagon about 6am on Saturday morning and took the driver to City Police Station for a breath analysis, where he recorded a reading of 0.186.
The man’s licence was immediately suspended and he told police he would catch a taxi home.
An unmarked police car saw the same black Subaru Impreza station leave a carpark near City Police Station about 7am, driving down the wrong side of the road on to London Circuit.
The vehicle was again stopped on Barry Drive, and officers saw the suspension notice on the passenger seat.
The driver refused to provide a breath screening test and was taken back to City Police Station where he recorded a reading of 0.197.
He was then arrested for driving while suspended and for drink driving. He was bailed to attend court at a later date.
About 10.30am, a police patrol on Kingsley Street, Turner, saw the same man exit a taxi and drive off in his car.
He was stopped for a third time and recorded a breath test reading of 0.150.
The man, Allyn Blydenstein, was again arrested for driving while suspended, drink driving, and breaching bail.
Blydenstein appeared in court on Monday morning, facing five charges relating to drink driving and driving while suspended.
He was bailed by Magistrate Bernadette Boss to allow him to seek legal advice.
Blydenstein is expected to reappear in the ACT Magistrates Court on April 28.
