In perusing the current threads, there are at least four threads I would like to give thoughtful responses to...
The silly one about The Redskins, The one about the meaning of Eric Cantor's defeat, The one about repealing the Second Amendment, (equally silly as the one about The Redskins) and the one about "reparations" (that is so silly that it doesn't even rise to the level of silly...)
Unfortunately, I will be unavailable for responding to this noise for the next few days, as starting early tomorrow morning we will be lifting off from SFO to head to Vegas for a few days at The Mandalay Bay...
Which regular readers of this space will recall I explained a bit back would be the "test run" to make sure The Little Prince would be up for a longer plane flight towards the end of summer...(Back East to meet my family, and then down to The Atlantis in the Bahamas, that Kelly has wanted to visit for years...)
The good news is he seems quite up for it...(He's put his little back- pack together, and he's ready to go)
But the one thing I've promised I'd never be a party too, was a screaming, ill mannered, uncontrolled brat on a plane... ; especially in First Class...
And I'm happy to say that I don't think he'll do that...
So you folks wont be the beneficiaries of my well thought out responses to your opinions till the middle of next week at the earliest...
Unless I'm really bored...

Have fun. One thing I do remember from flying when I was a little older than your boy's age, is that changes in air pressure from ascents and descents can affect little ears a lot more than it does for adults. My parents in their infinite wisdom decided that I was ready for a transatlantic flight at the age of five, and while I don't think I was loud enough to be disturbing other passengers, I recall whimpering pretty constantly during descent each way. But I've always had very sensitive ears, so hopefully your experience will be different.

I can't remember how old he is, but chewing gum helps with the ear issues while flying (most kids don't know how to 'clear' their ears).
My thread is NOT about repealing the 2nd Amendment, although that discussion is fine to be included. The thread is about the shocking regularity of school shootings, and the largely quiet acceptance of the American public.
I hope you enjoy Mandalay; their 'beach' is lots of fun for kids and adults alike.

I am late with this, but buying earplanes, a plug for the ears stopped all the nonesense I had with landing and NOT HEARING AT ALL for a few days. They make them for the youngun's as well.

Now that's really strange...
I had a picture of The Mandalay Bay's Lazy River in the OP, which has now been replaced with a photo that looks like the cover of some cheap paperback trash novel...
If they wanted to be image nazis and pull the image that's one thing...(though that's hard to understand, when its advertising for their hotel...)
But to replace it with a cheap romance novel-style image is dirty pool...

Very little...
When you're on vacation with two kids, romance doesn't get a very prominent spot on the menu...
We had two rooms, but they were adjoining and we might as well have only had one since they crashed with us most nights anyway...

That image is on their website also, and it returns the same URL that is in your post. Maybe they have been tinkering with their image directories??

There is a current thread in the Travel section of the U.S. Message Board on which virtually every poster bad-mouths LVNV. Although I'm no gambler, I've always enjoyed my time there.
