Our neighbour Pat, is a great bloke, and an idea chap to have about the place, he can fix anything and loves helping others. Just over retirement age, (mid to late 60's) he's still as hard as nails due to a lifetime of hard industrial working. He has relatives who own the local store. Pat was in the store when a guy tried to hold it up with a knife.
This is what happened next.
Love the fact that he went outside first to check if the guy had any backup. I'll buy Pat a six-pack for that.
News report here.

Looks like he actually broke the bottle over the miscreant's head. I hope it wasn't the good stuff.
GAH!

Re: A Pat on the back
Hope they didn't make him pay for it! Good for Pat! I'm not sure I'd have had the bottle (no pun intended) to hit the guy so gently - I'd be afraid if I didn't whack him hard enough to put him down and out with a well-fractured skull, he might just knife me instead of retreating.
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

Pat is now a local hero, I'm sure the people at "Nicks" will not see him ever go short of booze.
