The saving of 33 lives through international co operation is truely amazing in this day and age.

The miners in Chile are truely blessed. The equiptment and man power to drill the hole along with the expertese of NASA in constructing the rescue vehicle, which by the way the president of Chile completely ignored when he made a speech following the extraction of the last miner,came from the U.S. In fact the equiptment and drilling proceedure was perfected right here in Pennsylvania. The Chilian president was thoughtfull enough to include most, if not all, of the south American countries as well as Isrial and Great Britian but not a word about the U.S.

But then he is running for president soon so it would be in his best interest to make certain that he gets all the credit. Politicians are the most shameless creatures in the world,

On 9/11, some 255 U.S. bound flights were diverted, at god-only-knew what risk, to Canadian airports, and upwards of 50,000 stranded Americans were housed and fed in private homes, school gymnasiums, community centres, and wherever else space could be found until U.S. airspace was re-opened a week later. But could Bush the Twit manage a thank you that night during his effusive praise of practically every other country in the world EXCEPT Canada? No, because he felt the need to court Tony Blair for an invasion of Iraq which was already in the works, and which he knew Canada would have no part of.

My guess is that he would be happy to see either or both at that point.

I watched all but 2 of the of the rescues live, I stayed up until 2am the nigt/day they were to start only for them to delay it another couple of hours so I went to bed as I had to go to work, I was back up before 7am to the news the rescues had started and was in time to see #3 come up I had the live stream running on my computer whilst at work so was able to keep following the events, came home and watched on TV and then again on the pc and as I didn't have to go to work on Thursday stayed up until just after 2am to see the final one come up. I wanted to wait and see the rescuers come up but by then I was absolutely shattered so went to bed - was up again at 6 and found I'd missed the last rescuer by about 20 mins

It was compelling viewing and if memory serves NASA was mentioned multiple times by the BBC and Sky news teams as well as by the president of Chile and the Mining minister more than once over the course of the rescues - he might have missed them out of his final speech but ffs the guy greeted every single one of those miners as they emerged, he'd been working for 2 straight days with feck all sleep he impressed the hell out of me and my hubby and my son rang me to talk about the rescues and even he said the President had made a heck of a good impression.

I don't recall hearing about that at the time.

I was listening on the radio as the first two came up, ahead of schedule. I can appreciate that they tried to get things started without the interference of the media circus. At my break the next day, the Kwik-E-mart had the news on TV and I watched the second to last miner come up. It was supposed to take 48 hours, but the men were in great shape so, they kept the pace fast. I heard three miners already have book deals

The rescued Chilean miner dubbed the "Casanova Nurse" after his wife and girlfriend came to blows over him reportedly has a second mistress.

Yonni Barrios, who was the 21st miner out of 33 to be rescued last week, was welcomed on the surface by his mistress, Susana Valenzuela, after his wife of 28 years, Marta Salinas, refused to greet him.

But Ms Valenzuela claimed her 50-year-old boyfriend was also seeing a 25-year-old woman, Rosa Esther, who tried to visit him at the hospital. He was taken there for treatment after spending 69 days trapped underground.

The women are both victims of this man's lying, and instead of joining together to beat the crap out of him, they claw each other's eyes out. No doubt giving the louse a great deal of satisfaction in knowing that two women are fighting over him, because that proves what a hot stud he is.
