Boston Public Schools announced that they will be closed tomorrow and Tuesday due to the latest snow storm.

Administrative offices will also be closed and only essential personnel are asked to report to work, according to the department’s website.

Mayor Martin J. Walsh announced a snow emergency and parking ban for the city beginning at 4 p.m. this afternoon.

“We’re seeing one storm after another. There’s no place to put the snow and more snow is expected to fall tomorrow,” said Bill Simpson, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Taunton.

The storm, which is expected to drop up to two feet of snow over the next two days,
is expected to be heaviest through tomorrow night but continue into Tuesday, with an heavy impact on the Monday and Tuesday commutes.

Two feet on top of a foot, on top of three feet, on top of, on top of, on top of...

And nothing melting... :?

As I said in another thread, stay safe Guin. Boston is the new Buffalo (although Buffalo got 7 feet at the beginning of this winter).

I was in Buffalo for the 77-78 winter. The city had to use payloaders and dump trucks to clear the snow. I didn't see pavement on my block until April.
Wintery mix here in NY.

Over 60 inches in two weeks. Three Mondays in a row of the state shut down------and more coming Thursday night.

No place to put it indeed:

(That's the snow farm in the town next to me, yesterday morning)

When I was in Buffalo, they dumped it in Lake Erie and, golf coarses and any other open space they could find. The duffers were not happy.

We'd be more than happy to have you load it in to freight cars or trucks and dump it in The High Sierra...

If only I could snap my fingers and make that happen. But trains aren't even running - they are shutting down all rail service tonight at 7 (train and subway) and won't reopen until Wednesday morning. It is insane here. I've never seen so much snow and most old timers are saying the same.

30 inches in this last go round.

No one has come to plow me out yet and my street is a mess. I'm off to bake popovers for breakfast!

You might want to invest in a team of Huskies...

Partially dug out -- just waiting for the plow guy to do my driveway and I'm free! But I did take a little walk down the street -- so good to be out of the house!

But first, I have to get the snow off the second floor deck before the next round arrives. This is all a great workout, for sure.

Oh you're hardly the first, and won't be the last. I pretty much text the Swede every morning lately --"waiting for my plow." You can imagine the response....

Soooo... 'My driveway' is a code?

No. I don't need code, I'm perfectly capable of asking for what I need. Or want. Or both 8-)
