When I want to hear an opinion on race relations, misunderstood murderers and the character of Barack Obama, I always look to George Zimmerman for guidance....

What amazes me is that he had to stop the camera (presumably for edits) so many times to make that statement. To me this is like going to Ernesto Miranda (OK, he's dead now) and asking him what he thinks about having a right to remain silent and being warned about it. Who cares what he says? Whether you think the decision reached was right or wrong, I can't see that this statement will make a bit of difference.

To which I'll add a jerk and an asshole...(some people might consider that redundant, but in George's case it's worth saying twice...)

In fact since the trial, with a whole series of antics, he has proven himself to be such a jerk and an asshole, that I really wish that the evidence in the Martin case had supported a guilty verdict...

But no matter how big a jerk and an asshole he is, it won't change the fact that it didn't...

George Zimmerman shot in ‘road rage incident’

TAMPA, Fla. – George Zimmerman, who was acquitted of murder charges in the 2012 shooting death of an unarmed black teenager in Florida, was involved in a shooting incident on Monday, media reports said.

Police said it appeared to be a “road rage incident,” according to the FOX 35 television station in Orlando. Zimmerman appeared to suffer a minor gunshot wound in an incident involving two men, reported WESH-TV in Orlando.

The shooting occurred in Lake Mary, Florida, a suburb of Orlando.

Zimmerman, a former Florida neighborhood watch volunteer, was acquitted of murder in the death of Trayvon Martin in 2012, an incident that prompted civil rights rallies and drew international attention to Florida’s controversial “stand your ground” law.

Earlier this year, federal prosecutors decided not to press civil rights charges against Zimmerman.

Within seconds of his auction’s Thursday 11 a.m. ET start time, Zimmerman’s listing for the Kel-Tec PF-9 9mm handgun he used to shoot and kill Trayvon Martin disappeared from the firearms auction site.

The infamous 32-year-old Florida man posted the weapon for sale on Wednesday, with a starting bid set at $5,000 and an undisclosed “reserve price” for the winning bidder to meet.

“I am honored and humbled to announce the sale of an American Firearm Icon,” Zimmerman wrote in the item’s description. “The firearm for sale is the firearm that was used to defend my life and end the brutal attack from Trayvon Martin on 2/26/2012... This is a piece of American History.”

Proceeds from the sale, Zimmerman wrote, would have been used to “fight [Black Lives Matter] violence against Law Enforcement officers, ensure the demise of [Zimmerman’s prosecuting attorney] Angela Correy’s [sic] persecution career and Hillary Clinton’s anti-firearm rhetoric.”
