Your wish - my command

You completely tanked your credibly (sic) with me when you accused me of saying that Black people should "keep quiet because that's their place. "...
I'm sure you've got the place where I did that bookmarked so could you share it with me now? Aging as I am, I don't recall it... and I don't want to pile more crap into the police brutality thread.

Thanks

Cartoon - it's too large for me to see the right hand side and I didn't bother copying it to my Pictures file to take a look. Judging by the left side, it was a crock.

No, I'm not going to some corner to discuss what you want to avoid - the feelings of black people who get that racist flag pushed into their faces day after day and are supposed to keep quiet because that's their place. That flag, as you admit, has racist connotations - but in South Carolina you aren't interested. So be it
Now, you may try to weasel away from that, (rather than simply apologize) by saying that well, you never actually stated that I "said" that...

Of course if you do that, you will be able to add "insulting my intelligence" to the original insult, since it doesn't take a genius to look at the context and be able to tell you intended what you wrote to be a reflection of my thought process.

BTW, if this thread turns into another CBF thread (or a thread attempting to psycho analyze my views about it) that's fine, it will be easy enough for me to ignore.

LJ it looks to me like you have completely mis-read his posting.

Meade is not saying that Black people are supposed to keep quiet [etc]; it is the people displaying the flag and expecting to continue doing so without anyone complaining about it.

I don't have to weasel but thanks for trying to foreclose on your misapplication of the English language - it is not, actually, all about you.
I'm not going to some corner to discuss what you want to avoid - the feelings of black people who get that racist flag pushed into their faces day after day and are supposed to keep quiet because that's their place.

How dare you assert that any part of that is intended to represent anything you wrote?

Do you think "that racist flag pushed into their face" was about something you wrote? No - because you're not stupid. You didn't say that.

Do you shove the flag in their faces? No - other people do that. You didn't say that either

What do those other people expect? Why, that black people keep their place and their mouths shut. Did you write that? No.

See it's one sentence with one subject - you wanting to avoid any discussion of the above truths.

Here's the flag - it's a symbol of treason; an attack on the United States by traitors with the avowed aim of perpetuating slavery. Anyone who flies it is enshrining treason and racism

Heritage my arse (which may not be kissed). I hope this doesn't mean we can't continue seeing each other.

ETA thanks for answering the question

Something positive there, at least.

Regardless of those things, I think it's a cool looking flag design.

I'm excessively fond of the swastika myself - don't understand why the Epsteins next door don't like me flying it on Flag Day.

It's because they preferred for you to fly this ...
