Apparently Associated Press is *NOT* smarter than the average bear...

Mr. Berra would not be amused:
Yogi's name was similar to that of contemporary baseball star Yogi Berra, who was known for his amusing quotes such as "half the lies they tell about me aren't true." Berra sued Hanna-Barbera for defamation but their management claimed that the similarity of the names was just a coincidence. Berra withdrew his suit but the defense was considered implausible and sources now report that Berra was the inspiration for the name.

RIP Yogi; he seemed like one of the few legitimately nice guys in sports.
I remember he came to our school in the early 60s; he signed autographs and took the time to talk to the kids who came up to see him after the assembly (and he stayed until the last kid talked to him). I'll always remember him being an all around nice guy for that. Mickey Mantle was like the big brother we all wanted to grow up to be, but Yogi was like the uncle we always hoped would visit.

I'm sure that Yogi would agree that there are people dying today who never died before.
