Technically they are not failures of science but failures of the scientific community to communicate with the public at large:
Global climate change: There has been a consensus for 15 years. The evidence is ... well ... global.
GMOs: Almost everything in the supermarket is a GMO. Get over it.
Vaccination: It is safer than the alternative and it is wrong to have your non-vaccinated kid infect and kill a child who is immunocompromised and can't be vaccinated or just infect someone else, period.
