I'll Be Me

Just watched the documentary about Glen Campbell's Goodbye Tour, which also documents the devastation of Alzheimer's disease as he progressed through the first stages.

Absolutely heartbreaking, and I think a must-see - if you were ever a fan, you probably owe it to him to honor him by watching the film and recommending it to others, and asking your legislators to devote more federal funding to Alzheimer's research, which was his hope in allowing the film to be made and documenting his decline.

I'm still here, but yet I'm gone
I don't play guitar or sing my songs
They never defined who I am
The man that loves you 'til the end

You're the last person I will love
You're the last face I will recall
And best of all, I'm not gonna miss you
Not gonna miss you

I'm never gonna hold you like I did
Or say I love you to the kids
You're never gonna see it in my eyes
It's not gonna hurt me when you cry

I'm never gonna know what you go through
All the things I say or do
All the hurt and all the pain
One thing selfishly remains

I'm not gonna miss you
I'm not gonna miss you

SADLY...

... after Glen left the stage at Ryman Auditorium he got lost in the bathroom and the tour bus left without him. Fortunately, he found his way home and is resting comfortably.

Glen Campbell can't find the bathroom in his own home. Your post seems inappropriate. May you never fall victim to Alzheimer's, or have a loved one who does. :(

Everyone laughs at subjective, un-PC humor, until it disturbs their personal comfort level.

By the way, I'll be here all week.
