What is everyone doing?
What is everyone doing?
for Thanksgiving?
In an unusual set of circumstances I have the day before and 3 days after off. We will be at a casino for the big day, buffet included.

We should have a house full of family including my dear mother in law.

You could slip her a mickey and let her sleep it off under a pile of coats in the guest room.Big RR wrote:We should have a house full of family including my dear mother in law.

For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts
Re: What is everyone doing?
That's because everyone is afraid that if they told you, you might show up...
Re: What is everyone doing?
Good idea @W.
Or I could just douse her with water and watch her melt.

You are welcome to come to my house then.

Probably put a damper on the festivities. Meanwhile what does your wife say about her Mum?Big RR wrote:Good idea @W.

Isn't that thoughtful, Meade? She's inviting you to her house for Thanksgiving because she isn't going to be there.TPFKA@W wrote:You are welcome to come to my house then.MajGenl.Meade wrote:I tried to find out but everyone refused to tell me. Sorry.

Pretty much the same thing; but as dutiful daughter she tries to make sure she is included in family functions.TPFKA@W wrote:Probably put a damper on the festivities. Meanwhile what does your wife say about her Mum?Big RR wrote:Good idea @W.

FWIW, I went on vacation and brought her along with us several times because I thought it important for my daughters to know their grandmother. They weren't the greatest vacations for me or my wife (like any grandmother, she was more solicitous of the children), but I do think they taught my daughters that, like it or not, family is important. And they still try to make time to be with her when they can.

Re: What is everyone doing?
It's my sister-in-law's turn to host the day...
Of course there will be last minute drama, when Lady Kelly and Little Sister have their Annual Pre-Thanksgiving Day Fight...
This is a Thanksgiving tradition around here...(It's like The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, or the Detroit Lions playing...you can count on it...)
Tati and I have a bet going on whether it's going to happen Wednesday night or Thursday morning...

Traveling to Baltimore with Mom, Sis, BIL, and my boyz.

BTDTAnnual Pre-Thanksgiving Day Fight
My girls are going to spend Thanksgiving with their respective husbands and family.
I'll go to my sister's house.......her ex-husband will be there......no drama......they get along much better since the divorce.
Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

We're having the family over. Dreading hearing that any more of my relatives supper trump or Carson (though it wouldn't surprise me) On the plus side my second cousin is brining her Senagalese fiancée so that should make things interesting.
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

Travelling down to Lake Mohawk, OH to brother-and-sister-in-law's home. I think we bring the oyster & green bean casserole and the ingredients for grasshoppers.

@W should have written, "You are welcome to come to my house then," or better yet, " You are welcome to spend the day at my house then."TPFKA@W wrote:

The phrase, "come to" implies that @W would have been present when Meade arrived. The improper wording of the punch line decreases the humor level by a few degrees and lowers the response to less than 'LOL'.
Nevertheless, it is an admirable effort by @W although in the past she has been much more successful with her attempts to cause laughter with an insult.
I give it a -

Well I hope this is properly worded to convey that you are welcome to kiss my ass.Joe Guy wrote:@W should have written, "You are welcome to come to my house then," or better yet, " You are welcome to spend the day at my house then."TPFKA@W wrote:
