NEW YORK (Reuters) - Five men took turns raping a woman in a Brooklyn park after forcing her father at gunpoint to flee the scene, New York City police said.
The 18-year-old woman was with her father in a park just after 9 p.m. on Thursday night when five men approached them, police said. One pointed a gun at the father and told him to leave.
After the father left, the men each assaulted the woman, police said. They fled when her father returned a short while later to the park, accompanied by two officers.
The woman, whose name was not made public, was treated at a local hospital and released, police said.
Police released surveillance video taken in a nearby bodega that they said showed the five suspects prior to the attack. The video depicts a group of men in jackets and sweatshirts talking and laughing inside the store.
Police have asked for the public's help in identifying the suspects.

Okay.... let me guess.... You think less restrictive gun laws would have prevented this rape from happening. Either that or
more restrictive gun laws would have prevented this rape from happening.
Are you using hemp as a means of relaxation?....

No, whatever your hobby is Gun control will make it safer. And, If you want hemp just go to your local Wal-Mart. You will find it at the hobby rack in the fabric department. What you use it for is your business.

Terrible.
I was packing Christmas decorations away and the news was on(forgot which station) and they had a reporter knocking on the door of this womens house/apartment and someone inside told them to go away. So the news crew kept knocking trying to get an interview.
Leave the victim and their family alone will you!?!?!!?
hope they catch the bastards.

Supposedly, four of the five are in custody. Two of them were apprehended, and two others turned themselves in. The fifth suspect is still at large
The four in custody are all juveniles, aged 14 to 17.

From the Yahoo article:
The video depicts a group of black men in jackets and sweatshirts talking and laughing inside the store.
Color me surprised, who would have thunk?

What would you do if four men tried to take your baby for a rape party? In some states you run and in other states you have the option to shoot. Is it better to have the option or not to have it?

Five men with guns vs. one man with a gun - yeah, that would have ended so well.

Lib--even in states where you have to retreat, it would not apply if someone were at risk, only property.

RR, that argument might be valid if he was allowed to keep and bear arms in Brooklyn. that right is seriously infringed for the average citizen in Brooklyn, unless you are a criminal, then you have a city full of victims at your feet

Granted you may not be able to carry a gun in Brooklyn (OK, probably will not be able to get a carry permit), but that's true of a lot of states. But the point was that some states say one must retreat, and I just pointed out that the requirement to retreat applies only in the defense of property, not persons in every state I know of that has that law.
Now, in this case it would not have made a difference, but then it probably would not have made a difference either with 5 armed persons vs one (Clint Eastwood exempted, of course). Indeed, it would likely have ended with both father and daughter dead.

One pointed a gun at the father and told him to leave.
Is it me or y'all who can't read?

One gun was displayed because that was all that was needed.
There's no need to use a cannon if all you're trying to kill is a mosquito.

Thanks BB. I'm sure we are all aware that one gun is quite sufficient. But I was challenging these:
Five men with guns vs. one man with a gun - yeah, that would have ended so well.
it probably would not have made a difference either with 5 armed persons
Unless some of the attackers had five arms each, the reported "gun" displayed by one person somehow became five "guns".
This apparent
error strawman was then used to defeat the proposition that a gun in the father's hands might have stopped the assault
Perhaps some other article explained that all five were equipped with guns - but if so, none was cited by the two inflaters

This saying has been around forever ," When guns are outlawed ,only outlaws will have guns " I guess the bad guys can then ,rape ,pillage and plunder with impunity . (Armies do it all the time ) It has been said that America resisted full scale invasions for so long because of the armed populace ( Not counting the "Civil War " and early French and British incursions of course ) .

after forcing her father at gunpoint to flee the scene
That was kind of odd for a start because they had to
know he'd be coming back with the cops...
But even if
only one of the thugs had a gun, given that they had the drop on him, unless dad had John Reese "man in the suit" type
Person Of Interest Special Forces training skills, it probably would have ended even worse than it did...
ETA:
Of course if it
had been John Reese, he'd have grabbed the gun and then shot all five of them in the knee...

One gun or five guns, I can't imagine me leaving my daughter with the scum. Guess I would be dead but I would try and get someone (or more than one) to come with me.
