3rd Annual Plan B Person of the Year Award (for 2015)
3rd Annual Plan B Person of the Year Award (for 2015)
Once again, in the tradition of keeping traditions traditional, it is time to vote for the Plan B Poster of the Year.
Here's some rules and other nonsense - You have 3 votes and are allowed to change them. The poll will run for 7 days.
If you didn't make the list above, it's because 10 is the maximum choices allowed in a poll and your name didn't come to mind fast enough.
THE POLLING LIST OF NAMES IS RANDOM. A PERSON DOES NOT NEED TO BE ON THAT LIST IN ORDER TO GET THE MOST VOTES. JUST PUT THE FREAKING NAME IN A POST.
IMPORTANT!!! - This is not meant to be a popularity contest (but you might disagree... who cares?). It's supposed to be about who has had the most impact here. You know? Kinda like wesw's impact. Think Adolf Hitler on the cover of Time Magazine.
I'll count the write-ins but I might not count them correctly if this becomes a long thread but that's how unfair life is...
I just now took wesw off the above list and put in Gob's name because I feel guilty for not including him in the past, even though I think I had a reason for that at some point that I can't remember and if I did it probably wouldn't make sense to me now.
I think Crackpot will be upset that he's not on the list but what about Econoline and all those others who should be on the list? Quit complaining! I'm not on the damn list and you don't see me bitching about it.
As always, if anyone has a suggestion or comment on this poll, I might consider it. A comment like, "why are you doing this again?" will not get a response because I have no clue why I'm doing this, other than Lord Jim reminding me that it's time to do it again.
Have fun. Vote or don't. blah blah blah....

Well it's neck and neck at this moment. Sadly, I'm not one of those with 33% of the vote. I will however be delighted to hand the tiara on to whoever Joe "Call me Steve Harvey" announces as the whiner

Is it possible to cast a vote for two people to share the award? If so, I'd like to cast a vote for the team of Guinevere and Reality Bytes for their efforts to make the transition from Le Chat House to here so painless and prompt for us refugees.
My second vote goes to wesw because while it matters not if you love him, detest him, or just plain ignore him, you have to admit that he does tend to keep the board lively.
And my third vote goes to MajGeneral Meade because he was the first person to remember me and welcome me to this board.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

Joe, you can take my name off the list and put in wesw's or crackpots or yours or whomever.
PS
I don't vote in polls.
But I will put my votes in a future post. Possible onthe 8th day.

Re: 3rd Annual Plan B Person of the Year Award (for 2015)
I just realized after reading BB's post that a dishonest person could have 6 votes. 3 from the list and 3 from off of the list. And maybe even more votes if I don't count the one's from off the list correctly.
I've decided to keep that thought to myself for now so as not to encourage voter fraudulence.
Oh... and there can only be one 'Person of the Year' so the honor/embarrassment can't be shared by more than one person. Which also means you can't give one half of a vote to anyone. If there is a tie in the number of votes between two or more people, I'll come up with some kind of way to deal with that. I don't want to think about that now.

... @w don't forget what he said about me! I know you want to vote for the incumbent rather than for (say) Gob, who is income bent

Oldr - I'm going to make an official ruling and a comment here. Your name will stay on the list. It doesn't matter, since people can vote for you whether or not you're on the list!!!! Also, if I were to fulfill your request, I can only imagine how many others on that list will want me to do the same with them....oldr_n_wsr wrote:Joe, you can take my name off the list and put in wesw's or crackpots or yours or whomever.

uh.... No I can't.
But some of them might ask to be on the list twice or more and I don't want to set a precedent and have to start honoring similar requests, no matter how humble or stupid they might be.
As a compromise, if you end up getting the most votes, I won't tell anyone.
My ruling stands.
Court is adjourned.

Joe: Take my name off (having had the "honor" once is more than enough for me) and put in RB instead. I want to vote for her and Guin for their efforts in bringing the Chat House crew into our little corner of cyberspace.
GAH!

Please see my above response to oldr. Your vote for RB will be counted unless you change it.Sue U wrote:Joe: Take my name off (having had the "honor" once is more than enough for me) and put in RB instead. In the meantime, I have an idea that I want to consider but I'm not sure I want to spend the time and effort to do what I'm thinking. I need to do a cost-benefit analysis, review my reasoning for forming an initial opinion, consider other options, research similar situations, apply the laws of common decency and then come back and post my conclusion.
Something might change.... or not. The only thing I'm sure of is that what I might choose to do will make no difference whatsoever in who gets the most votes but might be more logical and neutral if instituted.
I want to be perfectly clear on that....
Re: 3rd Annual Plan B Person of the Year Award (for 2015)
I voted for myself because after the year I had I needed at least one vote.
I voted for two other people because after the year I had, I'm not winning any contests.
Probably wesw should win . . .
