FRESNO -- A man who police say was walking into traffic in Fresno to ask people for money has racked up his 70th citation for aggressive panhandling in the past year.

The Fresno Bee reports (http://bit.ly/1KoXBE5 ) that the 43-year-old was cited Monday for standing in the center median of busy traffic and approaching cars. Municipal code bans people from standing on medians without a permit.

At the time of his citation, the man had more than $1,800 in his pockets.

The man has been cited 11 times for similar violations since Jan. 1 and was cited more than 60 times for them in 2015.

Sgt. Todd Miller says they have offered the man city housing resources but he has refused them.

Must be doing well - paying all the fines and still making out like a bandit.

Why should he become unemployed, huh? This is free enterprise at its best... er, well maybe not

And now you know why I will not give any of these street-corner hustlers so much as the sweat off of my balls.

Is it required that homeless people have no money in their pockets? It's not like they have a sock drawer. He could be saving up so he could entertain his homeless relatives coming from out of state.

There are a lot of preTrumptuous people around here....

paying all the fines
That would be highly unlikely...

I can't speak directly for Fresno, but those citations are almost never paid here in Frisco...

Keep in mind too that this sort of "income" is off-the-books and all tax-free.  And because they don't need to have "real" jobs they are probably qualified for all sorts of social programs like AFDC, Social Security, SSI, WIC, food assistance, rent and heat assistance — just to name a few — besides.  I have absolutely no use for people like these and I wouldn't waste my piss on them even if they were on fire.

They've had similar stories like that here too. Kind of argues against "casting bread on the water". You just get a lot ducks getting bad habits when you do that.

Everyone thinks they're such sweet little things
Ducks, Ducks! Quack, Quack! Quack, Quack!
Soft downy feathers and nice little wings.
Ducks, Ducks! Quack, Quack! Quack, Quack!

But there's a poison I'd like to administer,
You think they're cuddly but I think they're sinister.
Ducks, Ducks! Quack, Quack! Quack, Quack!
Ducks, Ducks! Quack, Quack! Quack, Quack!

What are they doing at night in the park?
Ducks, Ducks! Quack, Quack! Quack, Quack!
Think of them waddling about in the dark.
Ducks, Ducks! Quack, Quack! Quack, Quack!

Sneering and whispering and stealing your cars,
Reading pornography, smoking cigars.
Ducks, Ducks! Quack, Quack! Quack, Quack!
Ducks, Ducks! Quack, Quack! Quack, Quack!

Nasty and small undeserving of life.
Ducks, Ducks! Quack, Quack! Quack, Quack!
They smirk at your hairstyle and sleep with your wife.
Ducks, Ducks! Quack, Quack! Quack, Quack!

Dressed in black jackets and horrible shoes,
Getting divorces and turning to booze.
Ducks, Ducks! Quack, Quack! Quack, Quack!
Ducks, Ducks! Quack, Quack! Quack, Quack!

Forcing old ladies to throw them some bread.
Ducks, Ducks! Quack, Quack! Quack, Quack!
Who could deny they'd be better off dead?
Ducks, Ducks! Quack, Quack! Quack, Quack!

Look closer and you may recoil in surprise,
At web-footed fascists with mad little eyes.
Ducks, Ducks! Quack, Quack! Quack, Quack!
Ducks, Ducks! Quack, Quack! Quack, Quack!
Ducks, Ducks! Quack, Quack! Quack, Quack!
Ducks, Ducks! Quack, Quack! Quack, Quack!

It should be noted that the black Mercedes Benz E320 that the panhandler rode away in was a late '90s model. Even I could afford one of those. If I were a panhandler, making the kind of money they are purported to get, I think I'd go for a much newer model. Would you drive a 17 year old car with that much tax free income? Poor people...

Giving to panhandlers should be a crime.

You should only give to unsuccessful panhandlers? Lazy and unambitious panhandlers who quit as soon as they have the price of a 40oz and a sandwich? Panhandlers who aren't trying to move up in the world?

Really. Think it though next time.
