NBC Miami reports that hundreds of riders were caught on video wreaking havoc on bikes and trikes for the Florida (of course) “MLK Rideout.” At least two people were arrested and numerous bikes were seized as the event wreaked havoc on local traffic.

Motorcyclists who ride like that are candidates for a Darwin award. I used to see one who'd leave the the traffic light three blocks north of my office and go by here on his back wheel at 60 MPH or more. It's a 45 MPH zone. I don't know if he's dead, or just taking the winter off.

Once in a while there is a sheriff's patrol car running radar in the church parking lot next door, but I've never seen them try to get together. Any semi-adequate rider on a moderately fast bike can easily outrun a cop car. Three corners and the cop will be so far behind he won't know where the bike went on the fourth. Can't outrun the radio though.

I just shake my head when I see riders doing these stunts. I got all of that out of my system riding dirt bikes. The road is not the place to play around like that. Gives us "sane bikers" (are bikers really sane?) a bad rap.

With all the lulus on bikes on highway 17 I just pray that I won't be there watching when it happens.

yeah we had a few local kids who were doing that on the main drag in front of my house.

when Baltimore was in flames , during the Freddie gray/black lives matter protests, they were riding around town here doing fast , long, dangerous wheelies on 4 wheelers and motorcycles with traffic all around them. just like the guys on tv in Baltimore during the riots

I watched them go by here with their wheels in the air 3-4 times during the riots.

I was scared that they were gonna kill themselves or someone else

Directly from a cop: if a guy takes off on a sportbike, a big-bore sport tourer, or even a big adventure bike (Super Tenere, BMW GS), he'll get away about four times in five if he's even a fair rider.
