I think most reasonable people understand that those "white" shows are intended to be circus sideshow type things and are entertainment and not representative of what gains approval from other white people.
I am sick of posts and articles designated to white shame.

However circus sideshow is a step up from the way those other groups are viewed. Not to mention whole groups of people are tarred with the actions of those subset groups.

Hmmm, be paid a few million dollars a year to parade the fact that I can breed like a rabbit, or be a black mother trying to raise a couple of kids on my own and be labelled a "welfare queen" when I'm between jobs. Gee, which would I choose....

Tarring whole groups by the actions of the worst of them is the essence of racism. To "celebrate" these same behaviors in white people does stink of hypocrisy.

So pray tell who here celebrates this shit? I don't watch these fucking freak shows and I am sick to death of being lumped in with those who do.
It is white shaming. Fuck you and get over yourself.

Hence the quotes. They are freakshows but they are presented with false neutrality.
You're confusing the impersonal with the personal. There are two types of racism personal and systematic. This is an example of systematic racism. The very fact that you couldn't air these shows if they started their non-white counterparts speaks to it's inherent racist undertones. The fact that they are given a pas because they are white while the same actions are used to belittle entire races heralds a larger perception problem. The entire system is perpetuating inequality. This has nothing to do with you or "white shaming" or any one individual. It has to do with a system that perpetuates inequality.
This incidentally is what is inartfully being talked about when you hear "black people can't be racist". They don't control the system so they can't be responsible for its faults. In the grand scale this approaches true (as they historically haven't held the reigns of power) but in truth they contribute to the system just the same as everyone else be it prejudice toward darker skin or to the systematic racism toward other groups.
Personal racism which you and I have allot of experience with doesn't enter into the equation unless it be on the part of the producers of the show and or the executives of TLC (I personally believe it's money rather than specific individual racism that motivates them)
In short this isn't a call of "this is racist you (personally) should be ashamed" rather "This is an example of systematic inequality we should endeavor to fix it"

Where is it written or stated that you can't have a nice big black family in a reality show? Says who? I loved the Cosby (not a reality show) show, back when liking Bill was cool, OTOH I don't watch 19 spawn and whatever is counting. The black baby machine on the Cosby show, while somewhat unrealistic in terms of what she managed to do aside from pushing babies out on a regular basis, (the house was too clean and she got too far in her job after all those maternity leaves for example, and kept a great figure.) was fun and a giant leap above what passes as reality. I have no doubt there are circus types that would watch a nice black Baptist family that was self supporting jump through the TLC hoops to make a few bucks to support the brood. I have no doubt if you broke down demographics on who watches that crap there is a lot of color.
This has nothing to do with you or "white shaming" or any one individual. It has to do with a system that perpetuates inequality.
I disagree completely that it is not about white shaming. We are all supposed to feel horrible about our birth advantage,(something over which we have no control) and the system (again, something over which the vast majority have no control.. And liberals who post this shit non-stop get to have some kind of orgasm every time they post it. It is not constructive to do so, on any level. What is does do is increase hate and resentment. Instead of constantly posting memes, get up off your lazy liberal ass and go try and fix the problem. This is not the fix. I don't know which is worse the crap that the teabag right posts on Facebook which is stupid, unproductive and usually fallacious, or this crap.
If I posted a list like this that reflected poorly on those with brown skin I would never hear the end of it.
Turn about.
Our regional CPR instructor is a black gentleman about age 40. The other day I was talking to him about some new hires. I used the term "these people". He jumped me quickly with, "What do you mean 'these people'?" I glared at him. "I can say 'these people' John because they are all white". He said, "Doesn't matter Bette, you don't know how this works do you?"
I love John. He gets it.
And the OP is a double standard as you can get. Fact.

I am not ashamed of being white.
Just as I am not ashamed of having blue eyes and blond hair and of being male.
There are plenty of things I have done that I am ashamed of, but having the DNA I was born with is not one of them.

Expecting people to be cognizant of their privilege and how it provides them advantages is not the equivalent of asking them to be ashamed of their class, gender, race, etc.
I think all of us as citizens should be ashamed of a system that isn't fair and doesn't provide the same access/opportunities to all citizens regardless of class, gender, race, etc. - yet purports to be fair and purports to provide everyone the same access to the 'American Dream' regardless of those things.

Those are TV shows?
Edit: I see now. Well, anyone should be ashamed of watching those - utterly appalling rubbish. I don't differentiate by color but by class - and those shows could wear a top hat and still walk under a snake

It's just a photo of a large black lady wagging her finger.
Hit "quote" - then copy the www address between the img brackets. Paste it in the browser bar and 'enter'.
When I do that, not only do I see the image in the new window, but when I go back to Plan B, the image appears in Joe's post. Otherwise it just says Image.
Wasn't worth the effort

BSG, the system IS fair, provided one is willing to work with the system. All people — male, female, black, white, brown, handicapped, blind, the elderly, the not-so-elderly — have the right to vote. All people are able to receive schooling provided by public funds. There are rules in place to prohibit discrimination in employment on the basis of age, race, religion, sex, and marital status, and reasonable limitations as to the accomodation of disabled applicants
(obviously, if the job calls for you to run but you are confined to a wheelchair, there's not too much they can do about that).
But people, as I noted above, have to work with the system. If you go to school and study, you will get your education; but if you spend your time skipping school, smokin' in the boys' room, being 'too cool for school', and otherwise not applying yourself to obtaining your education, it is *YOU* who have shorted yourself. Same thing with voting. If you need to register before-hand but you don't do so, whose fault is that? If you were to show up at the airport, cash in hand but no reservation or ticket and expect to just walk onto an airliner, they're not going to let you onto the plan either. Even Donald Trump, running for the Republican nomination, is playing the
"unfair" card because the delegates in some states are not being allocated as
*HE* thinks they should be — although they are being allocated according to the rules and policies that were in place and that he should have been aware of when he started his run.
So the system is fair, or at least as fair as it should be. It's when people who ignore the system find themselves on the short end of the stick that we hear the cries about how 'unfair' it supposedly is.
