SAN JOSE -- Former San Francisco 49er Dana Stubblefield was charged Monday with the rape of a disabled woman, according to the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office.

Prosecutors said the woman was assaulted on April 9, 2015, when she went to his Morgan Hill home to interview for a baby sitter's job. The 5-foot-tall, 105-pound woman immediately reported the alleged crime to the Morgan Hill Police Department.

Stubblefield, who stands 6-foot-three inches tall and weighs 310 pounds, is charged with five felony counts related to assault and faces a "substantial prison sentence" if convicted, according to prosecutors.

"This was a crime of violence against a vulnerable victim," said Deputy District Attorney Tim McInerny in a statement.

Bail for Stubblefield is set at $250,000. His arraignment is scheduled to take place within 24 hours.
Rapists don't do well in prison, mainline the son of a beach and see how long he lasts!

The alleged rape occurred a year ago and he's only just now getting arrested?

I'll maintain the sacred presumption of innocence until something more than the State's allegation is reported.

I mean it's not like the system is ever wrong or men are ever wrongfully accused of rape.

But just in case, maybe a trial by jury and opportunity to cross examine the evidence is due this citizen before we saw him in half lengthwise? :shrug

Not knowing any more details, I'm inclined to agree...

I remember the Kobe Bryant case a few years ago, and as that case developed it became apparent there was a reasonable doubt hole in the evidence that was big enough to sail the USS Eisenhower through...

That one wasn't a question of "Reasonable Doubt"...

That was a clear-cut case of criminal behavior on the part of a District Attorney...

I suppose I did go a little bit over the top.

I responded with emotion of loathing those who are strong and powerful preying on the weak and defenseless.

Dennis Nifong got off easy for what he did...

He lost his legal license and did one day in jail...

He should have served a lot longer then that...

There was no reasonable doubt as the players were tried, convicted and punished in the media and by Duke officials (and a lot of the general public).
