A 52-year-old man was arrested Friday for allegedly selling crack cocaine from his hospital room.
An investigation was launched last Tuesday at the William Osler Hospital’s Etobicoke site after a tip that “drug deals were happening in the hospital room” of the accused, Toronto Police Const. Wendy Drummond said
During a search, a “large quantity” of crack cocaine was seized.
Because the accused was still receiving medical attention at the time, he was not arrested until he was discharged on Friday.
“It’s unique,” Drummond said. “A hospital is the last place you’d expect criminal activity to be taking place. You go to a hospital for pretty specific reasons.”
Sebert Grange, of Etobicoke, is charged with several drug offences and is due to appear in Old City Hall court Saturday morning.
